Sir Malcolm Rifkind helped hire head of parliamentary watchdog that cleared him over 'cash-for-access' allegations
|Sir Malcolm Rifkind, Jack Straw|
What a remarkable co-incidence. Rifkind appointed head of Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards , who has now cleared him and Straw of breaking rules on paid lobbying,(despite the evidence against both of these MP's being recorded for television). In another remarkable twist to this story, Rifkind states that "he had forgotten the name of the person he had recommended" for the appointment.
