Dodgy Dave defends tax havens.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/david-cameron-says-it-is-unfair-to-criticise-british-controlled-tax-havens-a6982186.html David Cameron has defended British-controlled tax havens, arguing that criticism of their offshore regimes is “unfair”.  criticism of offshore regimes is “unfair”. Dodgy Dave thinks that criticism of British-controlled tax havens is “unfair” .What is unfair Dave is that the vast majority of people in this country have no choice but to pay their PAYE, while very rich individuals can salt money away in numerous schemes run by at best, dubious and often criminal organisations, sheltering in the secrecy of some tax haven around the world. Avoiding (and often evading) taxes while the rest of us pay is unfair, particularly so when the government creates the "loop holes" in the first place and then defends the resultant tax avoidance. The adverts in the video are irritating, but I suppose that this wretched, (now o...

British government sacrifices thousands of jobs and families in the steel industry as a thank you to China,

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2016/03/30/britain-sacrifices-steel-industry-to-curry-favour-with-china/ Britain sacrifices steel industry to curry favour with China "The British are sacrificing an entire European industry to say thank you to China for signing up to the nuclear power project at Hinkley Point, said one official in Brussels bitterly. If we can bail out the banks with £ billions to save a few bankers and hedge fund managers, we can invest in our steel industry to save thousand of jobs and families. T housands of British jobs put at risk at Tata Steel, because this government refuses to intervene in any positive way. Thousands more jobs put at risk in associated and other business reliant on the demand generated by steel workers families. This government should stop the dumping of cheap steel (predominately by their new friends in China) onto our markets, subsidise production of steel to reduc e the costs of our steel, take Tata in...

The farmyard that is now the House of Commons.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/feb/24/cameron-strays-from-the-script-with-corbyn-do-up-your-tie-jibe#comment-69357648  ‘Put on a proper suit, do up your tie and sing the national anthem’.”  Cameron attacks Jeremy Corbyn about his clothes Baying, cat calling, yaboo, farmyard behaviour again spewing accros the chamber of the House of Commons from the government benches. This time in response to a snide patronising, loutish and rude comment from a man who calls mimself a statesman and who occupies the highest elected office in this country. Jeremy Corbyn at PMQ's Cameron sinks to a new low in his wretched performances in PMQ's, in the country, the international stage and inEurope. Another Bullingdon Club toff, uncouth and debauched showing the whole world that he is every inch the ignorant result of "establishment" training.

Cameron is fooling no one but himself.

The EU is never going to agree for 1 country (the UK) to be able to "opt out" of European rules, regulations and laws when the objective of the EU is for greater political and economic integration.   Cameron, is seeking a way to present his "deal" as salvation for Britain, allowing the UK to remain part of the European Union. He would claim the same "victory" even if the "deal" was no more than a blank sheet of A4 paper, which of course it actually is.

The masters of hypocrisy

They also supply weapons and equipment to ISIS (usually part of those purchased from here in the UK), as well as assistance in the covert exporting of black market oil from lands currently under ISIS control. Saudi Arabia, actively supports and encourages ISIS in secret (one of those secrets that everyone knows but nobody mentions) whilst publicly producing a ...

Great News? No, just the latest government "Lie Sheet".

http://www.theguardian.com/business/economics-blog/2015/nov/11/uk-employment-gains-unlikely-to-trigger-rate-rise   We are moving further towards the goal of full employment that we set out in our manifesto. (Says the latest conservative party Lie Sheet)   The economy is creating plenty of jobs. Unemployment is falling. The proportion of people in work has never been higher. Great News? More people on Zero hour contracts (reducing the unemployment figures) more people on short time hours and having to claim tax credits (reducing the unemployment figures), more people on "education" courses (reducing the unemployment figures) more people on government subsidies "apprentice" schemes (reducing the unemployment figures) and other nefarious government scams to delude the public into believing that the government is doing something to tackle the problem and is the party for working people. Conservative propaganda wrapped in government lies.

‘I ask him for the sixth time,’

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/the-corbyn-quote-at-pmqs-that-silenced-his-critics-once-and-for-all-a6712001.html The Corbyn quote at PMQs that silenced his critics once and for all Not very happy Cameron, he is the Prime Minister one with the snake like tongue, who sits next to Osborne the Chancellor one, who sneers when he is not rolling around in hysterical laughter at the effects of working tax credit cuts on ordinary people,  had the usual (but now well worn) response about “transforming the UK economy”,  and "all would be made clear in the Autumn Statement". I ask him for the 6th time  It is, after all Questions to the Prime Minister. It does not imply that he has to answer any. Except that is, the "planted" questions from those baying snarling morons sitting behind him. Cameron seemed uncomfortable, but Osborne looked very angry and upset. With any luck their subsidised meals in the Parliamentary restaurants will have cau...

The House of Lords needs reform, but so too does our electoral system

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/oct/28/house-of-lords-democracy-accountability-reform#_=_  The Lords is a ludicrous affront to democracy and accountability.  says John Harris The House of Lords vote to kill off cuts to working tax credits  Another glaring "affront to democracy and accountability" is the notoriously unfair "First Past the Post" electoral system. You do not hear many MP's bleating about that. Increasingly arrogant and autocratic Only when the Lords (and I am no fan of that unelected and unaccountable chamber either), defeat a pernicious Conservative government plan, a conservative plan mind you, not a Commons policy (only 26% of the electorate and all that), which will make 3 million families up to £3,000 per year worse off does the government bench, Cameron, Osborne and Johnson in particular, erupt into fits of mock outrage, threatening all sorts of dire "consequences" to the House of Lords and...

A cut in Working Tax Credit, could be bad news for some Conservative MP's.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/oct/17/tory-mps-at-risk-tax-credits Tory MPs in 71 marginal seats at risk from cuts to tax credits Always see the funny side Working Tax Credits are a subsidy paid by the tax payer for business to pay low wages. The government bleat that the cost of this "benefit" has increased substantially over recent years and has to be cut. The only way to reduce the level of these tax credits, is to force employers to pay wages and salaries which are adequate to meet today's living costs. The "minimum wage" or "living wage" call it what you will, is a government confidence trick designed to indicate that the g overnment is "doing something" to assist lower paid workers where in fact it does nothing of the sort. In April of next year, hundreds of thousands of families in this country will be up to £3000 per year worse off due exclusively to a combination of government fiscal policies...

‘You’re about to cut tax credits after promising you wouldn’t’

http://www.theguardian.com/money/2015/oct/16/david-cameron-spokesman-respond-question-time-tax-credits-complaint  Cameron responds to Question Time tax credits complaint    Michelle Dorrell: ‘You’re about to cut tax credits after promising you wouldn’t’   Only 24 people out of every 100 people who voted at the last general election, gave this lying hypocrite an overall majority in the House of Commons. The baying, howling Tories on the government benches, snarl that they have a "mandate from the British people" to carry out their pernicious "reforms" and to inflict even more austerity on this country, in order to "balance the books". They lie and cheat while filling themselves with the perks of position and office. They laug h at the housing crisis, they reject moves to ensure that rented homes in the private sector are fit for habitation, because to repair them would be "a huge burden on landlords”, they cut welfare and res...

Cameron abandons hundreds of thousands to a "homeless" future

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/oct/07/pm-cameron-vows-scrap-rules-forcing-developers-build-affordable-homes-for-rent Cameron vows to scrap requirement to build affordable homes for rent   Cameron will encourage developers to increase the building of homes for first-time buyers. Cameron either by accident or more probably design, conveniently ignores hundreds of thousands of people in this country who will never be able to afford to buy either low cost first time buyer homes or "affordable" homes. This country has a housing crisis created by successive governments, where people are unable to buy or cannot afford to rent. Tinkering at the margin with the vague prospect of owning a home at sometime in the future, is a not very well disguised bribe to attract votes, which has been the way of things for decades and has failed miserably. What this country desperately needs is a housing programme to build at least 800,000 new homes of which a minimum of 75% ...

How will arming the parties in a civil war bring about "peace and stabilty"?

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/sep/02/david-cameron-migration-crisis-will-not-be-solved-by-uk-taking-in-more-refugees David Cameron: Britain should not take more Middle East refugees David Cameron: "try to bring peace and stability to that part of the world". "Cameron insisted the best solution to the crisis was to bring peace and stability to the Middle East" It is indeed ironic, that Cameron should use this phraseology, at this time. It would appear that the vast majority of those refugees locked out from Budapest's Keleti  railway station, thousands more in Greece and Serbia and yet thousand more crossing the Mediterranean (and many being drowned in the process), are in fact from Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.  Perhaps Cameron and other members of his government could explain how a long term solution, like bringing "peace and stability to the Middle East", will solve, or at least improve the current crisis, today or tomorr...

Clegg did not put Country before party. It was always ego and ambition before principle.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/08/and-then-there-was-one-miliband-clegg-and-farage-quit-as-party-leaders#comments Nick Clegg resigns as Lib Dem leader    May 8th 2015 Liberal Democrats were decimated and they got what they deserved. It was only "tactical voting" which saved Clegg from the same fate as that which befell his colleagues. They paid the price for his duplicity. As one Liberal Democrat voter said about the 2010 election, he voted Liberal democrat to keep the Tories out of 10 Downing Street, and the first thing that Clegg did was to jump into bed with Cameron and form a coalition to give the Conservatives power in this country. It seems that this view was held by hundreds of thousands of voters across the United Kingdom, who deserted the Liberal Democrats resulting in a loss of 49 of their 57 seats.   Only five years ago   Even up to the eve of polling day, Clegg and his other Liberal Democrat colleagues, w...

The arrogance of office.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/generalelection/general-election-debates-2015-broadcasters-to-go-ahead-with-programmes-despite-prime-ministers-absence-10091669.html Tories go to war over BBC's 'institutional arrogance' Election 2015: Seven-party TV debate plan Cameron and the Conservatives, demonstrating all too clearly how holding political office generates and perpetuates arrogance and contempt for any who disagree with them. As someone once said in a different context, "Who does this guy Cameron actually think he is?" The "final offer" from the Prime Minister implies he believes that nothing can take place unless it is on his terms, in his timescale and in his format. At the end of the day, during election campaigning and on the hustings, Cameron is no more important than a couple of thousand other men and women, many of whom are seeking to satisfy their own ego's by attempting to enter the House of Commons as MP...

The latest "We are listening" myth

http://www.conservatives.com/survey   An exercise in Public Relations. "We are listening" myth   It is always the case that these "survey" invitations from any of the parties never provide a facility for comments or adding the respondent questions or opinions. Always loaded questions with standard "safe" response options. The political parties have little if any interest in the views of ordinary people. They produce this type of meaningless survey as an act of Public relations designed to promote the "We are listening" myth. If they really wanted an opinion there are other, more effective and efficient, ways of seeking responses.

Resignation on a matter of principle

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/aug/05/warsi-attacks-morally-indefensible-stand-gaza-quits-coalition Warsi attacks 'morally indefensible' stand on Gaza as she quits coalition and says that Cameron has lost moral authority Sayeeda Warsi   I have never been a great admirer of Sayeeda Warsi. In fact, on a number of occasions, I have been very critical of the woman. However, on this occasion, she is absolutely right. As all of the rest of the world, well almost all, condemns Israel and its aggression on Gaza as being "disproportionate", "immoral" or even illegal, The government of this country, led by Cameron and some other Bullingdon Club former members, can only bring themselves to mutter a few weasel words of criticism as their LibDem coalition partners come out of the woodwork and agree with Miliband and the Labour Party, that Israel has gone too far. George Osborne The performance of Osborne and Justine Greening on televisi...

Vince is on the case.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/jun/25/scottish-power-warranty-cameron-cable-business-secretary?commentpage=1 Business secretary will address Scottish Power scandal Business secretary Vince Cable   We may all rest comfortably in our beds. Vince is on the case. He will deal with these miscreant Scottish Power people in the same way as he has dealt with all the other privatised power companies that have been ripping people off for the past 30 years. He will take up this long running and still outstanding "cashback promises" matter with Scottish Power, as he has attacked other malpractices in respect of exorbitant price hikes, failure to pass on reductions in wholesale prices of energy, bad service, complicated pricing structures etc. Cable and other gang members on government front bench Vince can be relied on to sort out the problem. He can also be relied on to give away public assets at knock down prices to his friends in the city and to e...

It is not only female MP's that are "put off".

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/04/17/prime-ministers-questions_n_5167986.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Prime Minister's Questions Noise 'Puts Female MPs Off From Contributing', Speaker Says Commons Speaker John Bercow struggles to keep order Questions to the Prime Minister. The weekly excursion into the world of “Yaboo” politics where each side of the House of Commons can indulge themselves in mindless baying and snide remarks from one side, no doubt shouted in order to provoke reaction from the other side to draw the “referee” Mr. Speaker to intervene with “Order, Order” or a phrase that Mr Bercow has taken to using over recent years of “The honourable member should calm down”. Questions to the Prime Minister now demonstrates for around 30 minutes each Wednesday, everything that is wrong with British politics and why, generally, there is such disillusionment amongst many people in this country with the political structure. Scoring cheap politi...

MP's are "Paragons of virtue"? Colonel Bob Stewart has completely lost the plot.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/04/13/british-mps-tory-colonel-bob-stewart_n_5142093.html?utm_hp_ref=uk  'British MPs Are Paragons Of Virtues,' Says Tory MP Colonel Bob Stewart Colonel Bob Stewart A worthless comparison by Colonel Bob Stewart. It is always easy to compare our situation with other countries and it is as hollow then as it is now coming from Stewart. Salaries and wages, working conditions, holidays, housing etc have at some time or another, been compared to those abroad, either favorably or unfavorably, depending on the point that the person or organisation drawing the comparison was seeking to make. The fact remains that British MP's are not,  "paragons of virtue". The House of Commons is, with a few notable exceptions, populated with people more concerned with their own ego's and personal ambitions, shameless and self serving men (and women) more interested in their positions, salaries and expense accounts and othe...
