Supreme Court is not seeking to overturn Brexit.

Sky News: Newspaper preview 6th December 2016. Carole Malone, journalist and writer was again one of the occupants of the Sky News sofa last night for their nightly newspaper preview. During the course of her first contribution at 10:30, Malone managed to clearly demonstrate that not only is she a rude and patronising "journalist", but also that she has a complete ignorance of the topic that she spent over twenty minutes hysterically trying to talk over Ian Dunt, the other occupant on the sofa, with her nonsense rantings that the Supreme Court judges hearing the governments appeal against a High Court ruling were seeking to overturn and reverse the Brexit decision arising from the June referendum. Carole Malone It is one thing to argue passionately about a subject where you clearly have a knowledge of the detail, but quite another to be hysterically shouting about a subject upon which your knowledge is limited or even non existent. Ian Dunt who wrote ...

Dermot Murnaghan: Another of the Sky News "nasties".

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/sep/11/emily-thornberry-sexism-dermot-murnaghan-sky-news Emily Thornberry accuses Sky presenter Murnaghan of sexism Murnaghan's smug smirk says it all Dermot Murnaghan is yet another of those self opinionated obnoxious, patronising "presenters", so favoured by Murdoch's Sky News. Granted that Emily Thornberry could have handled the interview better, she allowed herself to become flustered by the provocative and hostile interview technique which is usual for Murnaghan in this Sunday morning slot. Murnaghan may not have been sexist in this interview, but he certainly was loathsome.

Austerity is a myth says Cameron's former Chief of staff.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/sep/02/nick-clegg-george-osborne-cut-welfare-poorest-boost-tory-popularity Austerity is a myth says Alex Deane. Alex Deane. Meet Alex Dean, a British writer, political commentator and consultant. He served as Chief of Staff to David Cameron and Tim Collins during their respective periods as Shadow Secretary of State for Education . Alex Deane is another of these newspaper "previewers", so favoured by Sky Television News, because presumably they agree with the Sky News version of truth and news. Thus so it was that last night (2nd September) Alex Deane found himself on the sofa of the Sky studio previewing the (following) morning papers. The front page of the Guardian provided the highlight of the programme with its story under the headline "Clegg: Osborne casually cut welfare for poorest to boost Tory popularity". As Cameron's former Chief of Staff, and clearly not an admirer of Nick Clegg,...

Personal abuse is acceptable on Sky Television News

Christina Patterson:    "I would rather vote for a jam jar than that nutter Corbyn". Christina Patterson Christina Patterson, with the sneering expression and patronising attitude was on the sofa of Sky News paper review again last night. I criticised this obnoxious "freelance journalist" on my Blog last Sunday, for calling me and the 600,000 odd other members of the Labour Party, "nutters", "mad", "insane" and "stupid", during her rant on last Saturday's (20th August) Sky News paper review. It seems that Sky cannot get enough of this odious person, as she was invited back to share the sofa on last nights (27th August) show with Mathew Sayed, who at one stage revealed that he was "of the right" of the Labour Party and once stood as a candidate, but quickly distanced himself from the present party leadership and direction. Matthew Sayed On this weeks programme, Patters...

Sadiq Khan's sudden endorsement for Owen Smith, has a very hollow ring to it.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/aug/20/ditch-jeremy-corbyn-before-too-late-sadiq-khan-tells-labour Ditch Jeremy Corbyn before it’s too late, Sadiq Khan tells Labour London Mayor Sadiq Khan. According to Christina Patterson, I and the 600,000 odd other members of the Labour Party are "nutters". Patterson, is the "freelance journalist" with the constant sneering facial expression and intensely patronising attitude, often seen on the sofa in Sky News television studio, reviewing the papers. Not only are we "nutters", but we are also "mad", "insane" and "stupid" for being members of a party which, according to Patterson, is destined for political oblivion and is ensuring a "one party", (Conservative), State in this country for the foreseeable future. A party of full of "nutters" which incidentally has the largest membership of any political party in Europe, is dismissed as an irrelevance ...

The attempts at deception should at least be credible

http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/russia-helping-is-by-hitting-opposition/ar-BBnDA5V?li=AAaeUIW&ocid=U142DHP Russia 'Helping IS By Hitting Opposition'(says Sky News)   More absolute bollox, enthusiastically reported and endorsed by Sky News. Anything, no matter how absurd, which supports the "Pro Western, Pro Syrian opposition, anti Russian" line will be hyped up, exaggerated and promoted in the hope that some elements of the "gung ho" public will actually accept this claptrap as truth and "spread the word" to others. Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond and our media, also wish us to believe that all the civilians killed in Syria over the past weeks, have been killed by Russian bombing and that there have been no casualties (apart from ISIS that is) resulting from British, American, French or other Coalition airstrikes. It seems that Russian bombs and missiles are the only ones which have killed Syrian men, women and children. H...

Excessive coverage, devalues the media credibility

Over 50 hours of nonstop coverage is excessive. Since around 10pm last Friday night, BBC News 24 and Sky News (and some other news channels) have been reporting from Paris or Brussels (and with almost complete disregard for any other story) on the ISIS atrocity and events associated with or arising from it. I can understand why these events should be reported and I join with others in condemning, unreservedly, any acts of terrorism wherever they may occur. However, I shall require a great deal of convincing that it is necessary to have an almost continuous barrage of "breaking news", comment and looped video clips for over 50 hours and hundreds of thousand of repeated words, phrases and cliches filling the television screen. The media obsession with this is both unhealthy and un necessary and may even suggest that they have another hidden agenda.

The best Leaders speech for decades.

An inspiring Conference.     In a hundred years from now, this blog will be studied by analysts and students seeking guidance and inspiration or alternatively (and perhaps most likely) the Blog, its content and its author will have been "consigned to the dustbin of history", as Leon Trotsky and Ronald Reagan once said. However, all were written by me on the dates shown but were not sent to Brighton for inclusion in the speech, so the Telegraph will not be able to raise the criticism that they are old text. Ironically, you could argue (and I probably will at some point), that had Kinnock, Blair, Brown and Milliband minor actually used some of the text sent to them as alleged in the media, they might have been rather more successful with their conference speeches and not bored the pants off the assembled delegates. Incidentally, on the subject of delegates, have you noticed how many delegates and visitors are actually at conference? I have never see...

Competition at Sky News

Sky News reporting the "truth"    Faisal Islam: Sky News. Faisal Islam is the Political Editor of Sky News. He is also compteing with Adam Boulton, Sophy Ridge, Dermot Murnaghan, Gillian Joseph, Samantha Simmonds and a few others, for the rather dubious award of being the most biased, and obnoxious "presenter" on SkyNews. His "reports" from Brighton yesterday, covering the Labour Party Conference were riddled with snide remarks targeting members of the Labour party, biased and distorted reports of conference speeches (especially John McDonnell's speech) and carefully selected passers by being solicited for their views and comments on conference debates. Whatever the Sky News agenda actually is, Faisal Islam certainly provides a significant contribution of political bias to it.

The decline of British Journalism

The media and television of today, just "spin machines" for government and the "establishment".         At one time, journalism was held to be a noble and honourable profession. Historically, investigative journalists have exposed corruption, criminal actions, scandals, political intrigue and numerous other offences, and have held individuals, corporations and governments accountable for their actions. I have written elsewhere, how when I was a boy, I always wanted to be a newspaper reporter a Fleet Street journalist, (as they were then know), exposing greed and corruption at all levels within our society. However, today, particularly after recent and current events, I would be ashamed to admit to anyone that I worked in or was in any way, associated with journalism. The media today, particularly over recent months, has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for vested interests in business and or a political tool fo...

Two nerds on one sofa. Sky News paper review 15th September 2015

Sky News maintains its policy of inviting only right wing biggots onto the nightly  paper review slots   Motormouth Malone filling the SkyNews sofa and leaving very little room on the upholstery for sickly Stig, yet still managing to join him in pouring out stupid bile and fatuous comment. This time the target of their imbecilic banter was Jeremy Corbyn, his refusal to join in the singing of the National Anthem and the fact that the top button of his shirt was exposed. They spent practically the whole of the allocated time slots for the paper review, competing with each other for the dubious "honour" of who could spurt out the most nasty, insulting or unpleasant comment.  The Paper review section on Sky News would be better of without this pair of dullards, as would viewers.

Sky News switches its tack from numbers to positions.

Dermot Murnaghan has learned very little from previous gaffes. Dermot Murnaghan Sky News must have been running a crash course in bias and smear for thieir newscasters since Jeremy Corbyn was included on the ballot paper. The latest specimin to crawl out from bhind the scenery in the Sky News studio is Dermot Murnaghan, who after his awful bias and hysteria on his Sunday programme yesterday, returned today to pour bile and aggressive interview techniques on anyone not saying what Murnaghan wanted them to say. Today the target was the composition of Jeremy Corbyn's shadow cabinet. Having been thwarted in his "number of women in the cabinet" jibes as the total exceeded 50% , Murnaghan switched his bile to "Ah but none of the women have the top jobs". Even that is wrong, but that did not deter Murnaghan from pressing the point. He used the "top jobs" snipe at least 10 times and must have said "Ah Yes, But" at least as many times. St...

Who is responsible for orchestrating the abusive attacks coming out of the media and television?

BBC and Sky become more biased and more scurillous by the minute. Jane Secker Victoria Derbyshire  When I went to bed last night, Sky News, BBC News and doubtless many other stations, were bleating on about the lack of women in Jeremy Corbyn's Shadow cabinet. I got up this morning at my usual early time, and those same channels were still hysterically screaming about the lack of women, but now had been joined by the usual suspects in the press. A few hours ago, it was announced that the Shadow cabinet will have over 50% women members. I have just turned off the television in disgust at the scurillous, biased, distorted and hysterically hpocritical reporting which continues on television. Victoria Derbyshire on BBC News Channel and Jane Secker on Sky (and no doubt others) are now hysterically questioning every guest on the programme and shouting out in mock indignation that there may be over 50% but none of the women have the top jobs! (and even that slur ...

Another chink of light from the Independent

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-leadership-debate-jeremy-corbyns-opponents-fail-to-land-the-blows-in-final-televised-hustings-10485537.html Jeremy Corbyn's opponents fail to land blows in final televised hustings The Independent, in a refreshing change to its scurrilous smear and distortions of the past weeks, gives a (reasonably) balanced report of the Sky News TV Leaders debate of last Thursday, and concedes that the three other candidates "fail to land blows" on Jeremy Corbyn. Apart from a little confusion in the Independent report where Yvette Cooper's hysterical outburst about "false hope", and  "not being straight with people", and "PFI on steroids" and other nonsense regurgitated directly from the mouth of husband Mr Balls, is reported as "an impassioned critique of Corbyn's economic policies ", but at least the Independent acknowledges that, "the audience gave her polite appla...

Sky News persists with its campaign to influence the ballot, no matter where their contributions come from

http://news.sky.com/story/1543803/blair-corbynmania-is-alice-in-wonderland Corbynmania Is 'Alice in Wonderland' . In a new warning against a Corbyn victory, Tony Blair says supporters of the Labour race frontrunner live in a "parallel reality". Another intervention from Tony Blair Sky News giving wide coverage as they play the “Blair Card” again. This comes as no surprise as Sky News, their faceless editorial staff from “upstairs”, their predominately biased news anchor's and certainly their Paper review's at 10:30pm and again at 11:00pm, every evening, have clearly shown over the past weeks, an almost hysterical anti Jeremy Corbyn slant on every possible occasion. The Blair intervention has been on every news bulletin for at least 10 minutes since th e “story” broke and pushes all other news items onto the back burner. Just why Sky News should give such hard coverage to a story (apart from taking another opportunity to attack Corb...

Sky News finds another sneering, patronising reviewer for their Paper Review. Sky News 10:30pm and 11:00pm

Carole Malone and her "contribution" to the Sky News Paper review Carole Malone Sky news paper review, last night (27 August 2015), featured  Carole Malone, the woman with the motorised mouth and sneering features who thinks that the death of 6 children in an arson attack was “an accident waiting to happen” and that  illegal immigrants receive "free cars". Her contribution to the Sky News paper review, centered mainly on her demand that the Labour party should elect as their leader a person that "the public" want in the position. (Not, you will note who the party members want, but who the public want). She did not elaborate (thank God. She has the most irritating and affected mannerisms that you could imagine) on how "the public" could be asked the question. Presumably she would take the opinion from one or other of the media outlets or most probably, she would make the decision herself. Should she ever pause for breath in her end...

The daily dose of Sky News bias.

Sophy Ridge joins the "Stop Corbyn" team on  Sky News.  Sophy Ridge: Sky NEWs I am getting very fed up with Sky News and their almost daily anti Corbyn rhetoric and slanted "news" stories. This mornings effort is from Sophy Ridge who chips in with a story about "legal challenges" to the election result. Having trained at the News of the World and now with Sky News, she is well versed in bias. By the way Sophy, as you were at St Edmund Hall, Oxford reading English Literature ( Lit rather than Language, not that it should make much difference) you really should know that the word "schedule" is not pronounced as skedule but shedule.

For how much longer can this obnoxious, ignorant and patronising news presenter appear on our screens?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/kay-burley-more-than-1100-people-have-complained-about-the-reporters-alton-towers-coverage-10315127.html?origin=internalSearch   Petition to sack Sky News presenter hits 35,000 after Alton Towers interview Kay Burley. An obnoxious, ignorant and patronising woman I first signed the "Sack Kay Burley" petition some 2 years ago after witnessing yet another of her "interviews", that time with a protester outside the Houses of Parliament. Since then, she has appeared regularly on the screens of "Sky News" (not to mention her "performance" on the Dancing on Ice show)demonstrating time after time her obnoxious, ignorant and patronising interview techniques to all. She is also frequently boorish towards other Sky News reporters and presenters . How this awful woman manages to retain employment with organisation is quite incredible. She must have something on those people at Sky responsi...

When media bias ignores fact and distorts "evidence"

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/22/lib-dem-alistair-carmichael-admits-responsibility-anti-sturgeon-leak-mp-snp-leader-david-cameron?CMP=share_btn_fb Lib Dem Alistair Carmichael admits responsibility for anti-Sturgeon leak Nicola Sturgeon Alistair Carmichael. Lied for political advantage   Why is it that the Guardian, Independent, vast swathes of the media, the obnoxious and rude Sarah Jane Mee, who is yet another of Sky News presenters with a biased and self opinionated attitude, and BBC "pundits", have such selective and distorted attitudes on this story? Sara Jane Mee. Rude and Self opinionated I am no great fan of Nicola Sturgeon, but I do get very angry with the distortion of fact to suit personal or corporate biased opinions. None of these reporters even acknowledge that Carmichael lied and leaked the lie to the Telegraph in order to gain political advantage. If we must have reports and commen...
