Osborne: An incompetent coward, not fit for office

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/mar/21/stephen-crabb-government-u-turns-disability-cuts-leaves-budget-disarray Disability benefits U-turn leaves Cameron with £4.4bn to find The new Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Stephen Crabb  The government is in a complete shambles and this budget is descending into meaningless farce. The "one nation government" argument has been exposed as a cynical lie, and Osborne has been  revealed as the incompetent charlatan that many have always considered him to be. Moreover, he has demonstrated a complete contempt for Parliament with his failure to appear in the Commons to face questioning and in sending a substitute in his place. George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer   By this act of cowardice alone, he has demonstrated that he is unfit to hold one of the three great offices of State (or any other office for that matter) and should be sacked from his post.

Another government attack on Disabled people and those too sick to work

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/iain-duncan-smith-calls-for-urgent-esa-overhaul-as-part-of-drive-to-cut-down-welfare-costs-10468503.html Iain Duncan Smith calls for urgent ESA overhaul as part of drive to cut down welfare costs Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan-Smith   This story clearly exposes why the people of our country should not be expected to go through another 5 years of this wretched government with its malicious and divisive policies of austerity and resultant the destruction of the fabric of society. Iain Duncan Smith warns that Employment and Support Allowance, the benefit paid to the sick and disabled will be urgently overhauled. Weasel words to conceal yet another attack on those least able to defend themselves against the excesses of a government intent on creating a Tory dominated society with a totally subservient people where business and private organisations are allowed to enrich themselves at the expense of ordinary p...

Iain Duncan Smith and his "welfare reforms" causing more pain and misery..

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/end-disability-benefits-fiasco-ministers-told-9550115.html End disability benefits ‘fiasco’, ministers told       Another of Iain Duncan-Smith's "reforms", this time  the personal independence payment (PIP), causing distress to vulnerable people.  An ill conceived scheme being managed by an inept DWP, resulting in delays and chaos. Iain Duncan-Smith. DWP Minister It is a disgrace and scandal for which IDS and his dogmatic obsession with "welfare reform" is completely responsible. The ATOS connection: The committee also accused Atos, one of the companies carrying out the assessments, of supplying “incorrect and potentially misleading” information when bidding for the work. In a tender document in 2012 it stated it had “contractual agreements” with 56 NHS hospitals, 25 private hospitals and more than 650 physiotherapy centres – a claim which turned out “not to be true”, the committee s...

Grant Shapps is not very happy

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/09/11/bedroom-tax-grant-shapps-un_n_3904570.html?1378888999&utm_hp_ref=uk Tories Attack 'Loopy Brazilian Leftie' UN Official For Condemning Bedroom Tax Raquel Rolnik, an independent expert charged by the United Nation Human Right Council to monitor and report on adequate housing worldwide      Grant Shapps is bloody furious with Raquel Rolnik, the UN special rapporteur on housing. "She did not meet with any government officials,or department or any ministers in the DWP. She calls it a bedroom tax, when it is not a tax" he ranted. We are building 148000 affordable homes" (affordable mind you not social) "to tackle the housing problem in the country which is all the fault of the "previous administration" in any case". "Why should people have spare rooms when other people are in overcrowded accommodation?" Shapps is apparently writing to the UN to demand an investigatio...

It is time for a divorce

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/07/13/bob-crow-labour-party_n_3591038.html?utm_hp_ref=uk   Break ties with Labour and create a party that "speaks for working people". Like a married couple who have been arguing and bickering for many years, the TUC and the Labour party should recognise that they have come to the end of the road and that the best option for both parties would be a swift and preferably amicable divorce.I have been arguing for some time that the TUC should end the relationship with Labour and field its own candidates at elections under a manifesto which reprsents working people and social structure rather than the finance and business interests wwhich now are the main areas of concern of the Labour party. I left Labour many years ago when Blair, Mandelson, Campbell and Brown "reformed" the party and created a centre ground "one size fits all" political grouping indistinguishable from Tory or LibD...

Labour loosing more members.

http://thebackbencher.co.uk/why-im-leaving-labour/  The terminal decline of a once great party.      Clause IV of the Labour Party Constitution:  To secure for the workers by hand or by brain the full fruits of their industry and the most equitable distribution thereof that may be possible upon the basis of the common ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange, and the best obtainable system of popular administration and control of each industry or service . (deleted by Blair in 1995) They are all the same now   I left Labour many years ago when Blair, Mandelson, Campbell and Brown "reformed" the party and created a centre ground "one size fits all" political grouping indistinguishable from Tory or LibDem and exchanged principle for populist expediency. Thatcher created a nation where "there is no such thing as society", greed and selfishness are good, hypocrisy is an acceptable characteristic and where th...

Linda Wootton

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/05/28/linda-wootton-dies-after-being-judged-fit-for-work_n_3346582.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Transplant Patient Linda Wootton Dies After Being Judged 'Fit For Work' Linda Wootton   This is the DWP response to an appeal against an assessment carried out by Atos on Linda Wootton, “We have decided that you are not entitled to Employment and Support Allowance because you have been found to be capable of work following your recent Work Capability Assessment.”  At the time when the ruling to remove her benefits came, Mrs Wootton was in hospital, dying. Her husband Peter said "I sat there and listened to my wife drown in her own body fluids. It took half an hour for her to die – and that’s a woman who’s ‘fit for work’. The Department for Work and Pensions, the Secretary of State Iain Duncan-Smith, Atos and the ConDem coalition government are equally culpable in the creation and  implementation of a system of "refo...
