Lenny Harper's investigation "negatively impacted on the force"

http://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2016/05/20/police-regret-appointing-lenny-harper/ Police ‘regret’ appointing Lenny Harper "Top Cop" Lenny Harper Harper was not prepared to "Toe the official line" during his enquiries in his period in charge of the investigation into the historic child abuse. His enquiries led in many directions and upset ( or frightened) too many people who form the "establishment" in Jersey. A mouthpiece now trots out the absurd line that "Mr Harper had an ‘astonishing attitude’ to dealing with the media, which negatively impacted on the force", as part of the ongoing campaign to smear and undermine  the work Harper did during his time in Jersey. It clearly evidences, that in Jersey, the image of the States Police is of far more importance than establishing what events took place at Haute de la Garrene and other places across the island. Harper is being subjected to the same vilification and denigration that has ...

Theresa May's judgement in question as child sex abuse inquiry descends into pantomime.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/child-abuse-inquiry-theresa-may-under-pressure-to-give-investigation-greater-powers-9833677.html   Theresa May under pressure to give investigation greater powers. Home Secretary: Theresa May   As the much delayed inquiry into child sex abuse descends even further into the world of pantomime, another potential chair for this investigation bows to pressure and stands down from the post. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to find a suitable candidate to fill the role of chair for this essential inquiry, who has not had some contact or relationship with, or perhaps is related to, some “establishment” figure implicated in or otherwise involved in some form or other, at any level, with the allegations of abuse and the alleged cover up of these crimes.  Fiona Woolf Elizabeth Butler-Sloss   The perception prevails, rightly or wrongly, that “th...

Labour peer's letters to care home boy revealed as questions grow around Theresa May's recently announced inquiry.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/jul/13/labour-peer-letters-boy-questions On the 7th July, Home secretary Theresa May announced a wide-ranging inquiry into public bodies' and institutions' handling of historical child abuse allegations, to be headed by retired judge Lady Butler-Sloss. The inquiry would include allegations of historical abuse involving politicians. Home Secretary Theresa May.   There are many reasons, some small but not insignificant, and some  larger contentions, which cumulatively provide overwhelming justification for the growing insistence for the removal of Lady Butler-Sloss as head of the recently announced inquiry into public bodies' and institutions' handling of historical child abuse. The family relationship between Butler-Sloss and the former Attorney General Sir Michael (Later Lord) Havers, should in itself, be enough of a reason to bar the appointment, but it seems that Theresa May and David Cameron have complete co...

Theresa May delivers words and cliches but no real substance.

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/jul/07/may-child-abuse-inquiry-maximum-transparency     Theresa May promises child abuse inquiry with 'maximum transparency' Home Secretary Theresa May    I watched Theresa May's "statement to the House" on television yesterday, expecting the announcement of some far reaching inquiry, to delve into the depths of the secret past (and continuing) activities of some MP's, Lords and others, active the paedophile network operating in and around Westminster. An inquiry to expose the extent of and those involved in the abuse and in the conspiracy to cover up the abuse of children in care homes, hostels and other institutions in Lancashire, Wales, London, Kent and numerous other places around the country including Jersey. What the Home Secretary actually delivered during her period at the despatch box appears to have been a “marking time” statement. A speech full of many words, quite a few well worn c...

The layers of conspiracy and cover up are peeling away.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jul/06/guardian-view-sex-abuse-cover-ups Public confidence, and maybe justice too, demand a thorough inquiry into rumours of a paedophile ring at Westminster    Geoffrey Dickens, handed the dossier to Leon Brittan,     At last, it seems that the layers of secrecy, lies, conspiracy and cover up dating back over decades are being peeled back to reveal the extent of child sex abuse and those involved in the scandal. With inquiries already taking place in a number of locations around the country, including the "Independent Jersey Care Inquiry" with its  Jimmy Savile connection to Haut de la Garenne there is clearly a case for drawing all the inquiries together to ensure that nothing is missed and that "guilty" individuals are identified. This afternoon, (7th July) Home Secretary Theresa May, will announce details of the "independent and authoritative" review of the claims of the cover up in connectio...
