Samantha Power: hand wringing hypocrisy and emotional insincerity

<iframe src="https://embed.theguardian.com/…/are-you-incapable-of-shame-…" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Samantha Power criticises Syria, Iran and Russia over Aleppo. Samantha Power indulges in the usual mock and overplayed "sincerity" in criticising Russia and Iran in connection with the Aleppo tragedy. It is a bit rich for an America that has on numerous occasions, turned its eyes away from the atrocities inflicted upon the people of Gaza, to ask others the question "Are you incapable of shame?" when they themselves have ignored countless humanitarian crises in other countries. The catastrophe for "the West", is that their allies, "the G ood rebels" in Aleppo have been defeated and that the great plan to bring regime change to Syria with the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad has been set back by years, if not completely derailed. Aleppo The t...

Syrian government forces make gains in Aleppo

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/nov/28/pro-assad-forces-seize-third-of-east-aleppo-in-rapid-advance-syria Pro-Assad forces seize third of east Aleppo in rapid advance The battle for Aleppo, which has been raging since July 2012, as just one theatre of the Syrian Civil War, seems now to be drawing to a conclusion as Syrian government forces retake vital areas of the East and North East of the city making rapid advances into rebel held areas. Forces loyal to Bashar Al-Assad now control large areas of Syria's second city, having seized much of rebel held East Aleppo, meeting little resistance in their advance northwards. The Americans are of course furious. Furious because the rebels now taking huge reversals in Aleppo are the "good rebels" who have been supported and encouraged by America and Great Britain since the start of this civil war back in 2011. It has always been the American objective, supported by the United Kingdom gov...

A history of failed foreign policy.

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/what-a-choice-for-egypt--a-megalomaniac-president-or-the-madness-of-isis-10400354.html What a choice for Egypt – a megalomaniac president or the madness of Isis American "foreign policy"  As is invariably the case in the foreign policy options of the United States, particularly in the Middle east, the American have managed to screw up an entire country and crate an infinitely worse and more dangerous situation than that which existed before their infantile meddling. By encouraging and supporting (perhaps even participating in) the overthrow of a democratically elected President and replacing him with a military dictatorship led by a despotic little General, the Americans have ensured that Isis (another failed experiment where an American organised and financed organisation has morphed into a dangerous and brutal "terrorist" group) has spread its influence to yet another country. The evidence after years o...

Creating an atmosphere of fear and alarm to justify intervention.

Metropolitan Police assistant commissioner The press, the "establishment" and the television media continue to pour out hysterical nonsense regarding the "threat" to this country from "Jihadists", "Radicalised" Islamists, "Brainwashed" Terrorists, Extremists and all the other cliche ridden descriptions, emanating from "veterans " returning from Syria and "who are intent on carrying out terrorist attacks here". The purpose of these lurid tales of impending doom for the population in this country, is to ensure a mindset of fear and mistrust prevails in ordinary people, and that the overriding desire for renewed intervention in the Middle East still very much to the forefront of many politicians, both here and in the United St...

Expediency is always at the centre of American foreign policy.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/iraq-crisis-exclusive-us-rules-out-military-action-until-pm-nouri-almaliki-stands-down-9547311.html US rules out military action until PM Nouri al-Maliki stands down Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki Nouri al-Maliki was practically installed by the United States as Prime Minister of Iraq following the overthrow of Saddam Husein. In 2006, following close U.S. involvement in the selection of a new prime minister, al-Maliki's name arose from the four that had been interviewed by the CIA.  United States Ambassador to Iraq said that "AL-Maliki's reputation is as someone who is independent of Iran." As Saddam was installed, supported and then removed by the United States, so al-Maliki suffers the same fate. Once you have served your purpose, the United States has no qualms in removing or dumping you. British politicians should take note. The "Special Relationship" is a myth
