The dying throes of a party which once put priciple ahead of personal advantage.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/exclusive-lib-dems-declarewar-on-the-rich-with-raidson-pensions-and-property-in-2015-manifesto-9089203.html Lib Dems declare war on the rich in 2015 manifesto   During the last four and a bit years, the LibDems have been enthusiastic allies of the Tories in the "war" against ordinary people in this country. The poor, the sick, the disabled, the benefit claimants, have had state support cut savagely as the LibDems trooped through the lobby in support of their "Coalition partners". Working people too have been attacked with reductions in working credits, wage and salary freezes, conditions and pension restrictions and the vast majority of people in the United Kingdom, have been adversely affected by the relentless increases in the price of gas, electricity, water and all the other essentials of everyday life in this country. It is not coincidental that in the four years of the ConDem coalition, ...

Sky News is obsessed with China

http://news.sky.com/story/1156724/china-man-kills-pregnant-wife-and-family What is this obsession that Sky News have with bloody China? They have already started reporting the business news from China and even weather reports. Cameron, Johnson, Osborne and the rest of the Tory sycophants may think that China is now the greatest thing since sliced bread (forget about the human rights abuses) but that is no excuse or reason for cramming this far off land down our throats every two minutes.

China is now flavour of the month for George Osborne.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/george-osborne-says-secondrate-britain-must-rediscover-its-can-do-attitude-8890558.html   Britain needs to be more like China, the Chancellor has said.     Over recent years, politicians of all political persuasions have told us that we can "learn lessons" from various locations around the world. Germany, France and numerous other countries including of course the United States, have all been listed as examples of how we should behave, or used as models for a particular way of life or civilisation, which satisfies the politicians perception of what he or she feels would make good press at home. Now it seems that China is "flavour of the month" and Osborne leads a chorus of government sycophants squabbling with each other to get their particular inane contributions into the press or on television. (Civil rights abuses are conveniently forgotten). We can only hope that Osborne, or some other g...

Demonising one section of society against another.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/revealed-big-lie-behind-the-bedroom-tax-as-families-trapped-with-nowhere-to-move-so-cannot-avoid-new-penalty-for-having-spare-room-8745597.html Generating division within society is a diversion from the real issues.   Within the "comments" section of this article taken from the Independent, there is a thread from "Nick" which has provoked responses from amongst others "tomkyle", "DrMartinAndrews"and "Tommy Atkins". The exchanges on this thread alone, vividly demonstrate the extent to which this government have been stunningly successful in dividing the people of this country. Demonising one section of society and provoking another section to react (thus provoking a further reaction), is a tactic which has served the "establishment" very well for decades past. Whilst these arguments rage on, the government sit back and watch the furore comfortable in the knowledge ...

Government lies exposed as data confirms effects of the "Bedroom tax".

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/revealed-big-lie-behind-the-bedroom-tax-as-families-trapped-with-nowhere-to-move-so-cannot-avoid-new-penalty-for-having-spare-room-8745597.html ‘Big lie’ behind the bedroom tax as families trapped with nowhere to move so cannot avoid new penalty for having spare room 96% of benefit claimants who will be penalised cannot be rehoused   This effects of this piece of IDS dogma, were  predicted and broadcast long before the iniquitous policy was forced through the Commons. The Conservatives/LibDems will not change the law, or take any measures to alleviate the problem, (such as building social housing,) and the Labour (New Tory) Party will not repeal it, in the event that they form the next government. Nor, incidentally, will they build social housing either.  It seems that this odious policy and its evil consequences, together with those responsible for introducing it and those responsible for...

Criticism and comment is not disloyal.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/04/24/ed-miliband-says-len-mccluskeys-comments-are-reprehensible_n_3148810.html?utm_hp_ref=uk#comments Ed Miliband has had a dramatic clash with Len McCluskey, calling comments by the leader of the Unite union "reprehensible" and "disloyal".     Nothing has really changed since I left the Labour Party, or to be more accurate, since the Labour Party left me, when the “Blairites” assumed control and led the Labour movement to the barren desert of the “centre ground” of British politics. There they found that the Tories had already squatted in the area, and the Liberal Democrats were frantically scurrying around trying to find a home for their “all things to all men” policies. Now, in a country where the main political parties essentially preach the same message, where a Tory government, supported by a rag bag collection of Libdem MP's eager to maintain their new found c...
