In Iceland the guilty are sent to prison. In the UK the innocent are punished with Austerity.

http://usuncut.com/world/iceland-sentences-26-bankers-to-a-combined-74-years-in-prison/  Iceland sentences 26 bankers to a combined 74 years in prison     Good and reassuring news from Iceland. At least there is one country that has the backbone to defy the vested interests of some political factions and prosecute those responsible for the financial crisis rather than persecute ordinary people with pernicious cuts, reductions in living standards and crippling austerity. We could have a similar scenario here if the politicians were not in the pockets of bankers and financiers. The British people are paying the price for the "financial crisis", while the bankers continue to enjoy the huge salaries bonuses and the lifestyles that they have become used to. The banking world in the United Kingdom,  is "protected" from the consequences of its own action by politicians with their own agenda. Austerity is not an economic necessity. Austerity is a poli...

Why we should not be involved.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/may/31/syria-peace-talks-russia-weapons Syria peace talks likely to be postponed as Russia plans to ship more weapons President of the Syrian National Council George Sabra (C) talks with other Syrian opposition members The "Peace talks" are not postponed because Russia has announced its intention to "ship more weaponry to the Assad regime", as the whole tone of this (Guardian) article seems intent on suggesting. There is of course no mention of any of the other "invasions" by Qatari volunteers supporting another fragment of the "rebels" opposed to George Sabra, or the Saudi Arabian militia supporting yet another faction or the Israeli and American support for which ever "opposition faction...

The "politics" of women's trousers.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/05/17/ukip-donor-says-women-should-not-wear-trousers_n_3291834.html?utm_hp_ref=uk   UKIP Donor says Women who wear trousers "Look bad from behind".   On the 8th March 2013 I wrote "............I find it noticeable that, again, the "establishment" propaganda machine has moved into action to rubbish and discredit a party or philosophy that is perceived as a threat to the "status quo" of the political club in this country." It seems to me that someone commenting on "women's trousers", no matter what phraseology they may choose to use, is neither newsworthy or interesting. In fact I would suggest that every day it would be possible to hear remarks about trousers, or "butts", or any of the other frivolous snippets contained in the "story", in any street, cafe, restaruant pub or anywhere else you may happen to be. What then makes this offering from Demetri Marchessini (wh...
