Senna was killed in an accident during the San Marin Grand Prix at Imola on the 1st May 1994. He was 34 years old. It seems incredible that it is 20 years since I watched that race on television and those sad scenes of the Williams leaving the racing line and hitting the retaining wall, the crashed car and the medical personnel attending the accident.
