May's comments designed to curry favour with the incoming Trump administration.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/dec/29/theresa-may-john-kerry-comments-israel-palestine-un-resolution Theresa May  has distanced the UK from Washington over John Kerry’s condemnation of Israel . I am not a fan of John Kerry, or of any American administration or "Secretary" which over the years, has given unqualified support and diplomatic protection to the state of Israel. However, after the United States refused to exercise its veto on the question of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories of Palestine, and Kerry's subsequent speech defending the Obama administration’s decision to allow the UN Security Council to declare Israeli settlements illegal, I was inclined to believe that America was now moving towards accepting that the building of settlements is a major obstacle to peace in the region and the creation of a "Two State" solution.                        Kerry condemns gr...

Special Adviser to President Trump or "filling a hole" in British politics?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/tony-blair-returning-to-politics-comeback-jeremy-corbyn-nutter-theresa-may-lightweight-a7427676.html Tony Blair is positioning himself to return to British politics, The British press or at least sections of it, seem to have a morbid fascination with Anthony Charles Lynton "Tony" Blair . In the Express today (20th November 2016) there is a story that Blair could become an adviser to President elect Trump after s peculation that the schmoozing former Labour leader might be fishing for a role in Trump's team . Admittedly, Blair's aides have rubbished claims that he’s vying for an advisory role in Donald Trump’s administration, blasting such rumours as “complete nonsense”. However, with Blair's record of political opportunism and the delusion of his own importance, we never know where this martinet may materialise next. President elect Donald Trump On the other hand, p e...

The Clinton machine stitched up Bernie Sanders so the American people (and the rest of us) got Donald Trump.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/presidential-election-donald-trump-would-have-lost-if-bernie-sanders-had-been-the-candidate-a7406346.html Trump would have lost the election had Bernie Sanders been the candidate. Bernie Sanders was stitched up and removed from the Presidential Candidates selection process by the Clinton machine and by Clinton money. His subsequent endorsement of Clinton came as a surprise and even shock, to those who believed and still believe that he was the only Democrat who could beat Trump. Clinton represented the corrupt, hypocritical and dis credited character of American politics, offering nothing but more of the same, a continuation of the status quo, to millions of people who already felt excluded, left behind by the "American dream". Bernie Sanders offered a real change to politics in the United States, a change which would reach out to people to make them be part of society, to be included, to be part of, rather ...

An awful prospect for the world

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jun/06/hillary-clinton-clinches-democratic-presidential-nomination-ap-count#comment-75797336 Hillary Clinton has delegates to clinch Democratic nomination, says AP count I rarely comment on the American political scene, as I believe that it is a domestic matter which should be for those who live there. However, when it comes to the choice of a President, there is a difference. The President is according to reports, the "leader of the free world holding the most powerful position on the planet". Consequently, as one of those being "led" (though not an American), I feel that I should be allowed to comment on the presidential race for the Whitehouse. According to reports, Hillary Clinton has secured sufficient delegates to become the Democratic nominee to run against Donald Trump for the Presidency. What an awful prospect for the world, let alone the American people. The screeching hysterical megalo...
