Patronising Bastard.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/uk-edges-closer-to-an-eu-exit-as-cameron-crushed-in-bid-to-block-jeanclaude-junckers-leadership-9568749.html Britain closer to EU exit after Jean-Claude Juncker vote.     Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb       Alexander Stubb, the Finnish Prime Minister, said British voters should "wake up and smell the coffee" Patronising Bastard. No matter what side of the pro or anti EU membership argument you happen to be on, we do not need lessons on how we should think from the Finnish Prime minister who in fact has only been the Finnish PM since the 24th June in any case! Only 4 days into the job and he is telling us to smell the coffee. . He would be better employed getting used to enjoying the "freebie" lunches and "working" dinners of the of the EU (of which there are many)

A solution was never an option.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/02/15/syria-peace-talks_n_4794415.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Peace talks in Geneva are on the verge of collapse, UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi Did anyone really expect anything to come as a result of these "peace talks"? The FSA and the other 1001 rebel groups, are fighting with each other for control of regions of Syria and have wildly divergent social, political and economic aims. The only factor which they have in common is the objective of removing Bashar al-Assad from power. The only objective that America and the United Kingdom has, is regime change in Damascus and to this end, both are determined to launch a campaign of military intervention as soon as the climate of public opinion at home allows. With this objective, the politicians of both countries have embarked on a propaganda assault, enthusiastically taken up by the television and media, demonising Assad and thereby seeking to justify economic and military support for...

Another feeble "justification" for intervention.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/31/syrian-government-starve-or-surrender-civilians  Syrian government accused of 'starve or surrender' policy against civilians   The “starve or surrender” tactic has been employed in warfare since Roman times through the middle Ages, the Boer War and two World wars. For the United States  to suggest that this is some kind of new "atrocity" carried out by the Syrian government, demonstrates more of another exercise in clutching at any straw to whip up public opinion behind a military attack on Syria. Kerry chips in to this growing clamour for a UN resolution and subsequent intervention, with his comments that "“Bashar al-Assad is not, in our judgement, fully in compliance", in respect of the chemical weapons destruction. Another drip of propaganda to add to the accumulation of questionable "evidence". The United States and  the United Kingdom, have been intent since last year, of becoming ...

It was only a matter of time.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2014/01/un-no-substantive-results-syria-talks-2014130684576878.html US accuses Syria of stalling on chemical plan  Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel urges Syria to intensify removal   It was only a matter of time. Sooner or later the Americans would have to start the "Syria is stalling", or "Syria must comply with its obligations" or "Syria is in defiance of the International community" or some other hysterical rhetoric pouring out of Washington. We have heard it all before in some context or other. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were preceded by the "International Community", otherwise known as the United States and the United Kingdom, trying to convince a skeptical world that "the bad guys" were at it again and that they must be punished. I have previously argued that it has always been the American and British objective to attack Syria and bring ab...

The war mongers still want to bomb Syria

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/dec/30/alistair-burt-anger-syria-westminster  Alistair Burt reveals anger over Syria vote at Westminster Alistair Burt: whinging war monger It really is nauseating when the war mongers like Alistair Burt, bleat on with their whinging spurious garbage about how Parliament has somehow become undermined and impotent because those itching to become involved in the Syrian Civil war, (for whatever reasons their hidden agenda demands), have been defeated in their desires to kill people in someone else's country and someone else's war. It appears that they would have no qualms or shame in using other peoples lives in their desire to demonstrate their macho images with the specious justification of "supporting the Syrian opposition forces" regardless of the fact that they are unable to specify which of the 1001 opposition groups they would actually be supporting. Parliamentary democracy often involves not getting you...

"Non leathal aid" to Syrian rebels is suspended.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/11/syrian-crisis-us-uk-suspend-aid-islamist-weapons-stores US and UK suspend 'Non-lethal' aid  no change in policy of providing non-lethal support to the moderate opposition.    A complete shambles of a civil war, and Britain, the United States and France must share responsibility for being among the main contributors to this carnage. The "western powers" should have heeded the advice and kept out. This civil war looks more and more like a bloody stalemate and the Western "allies" are perpetuating the bloodshed. Suspension of supplies of "non lethal aid" is nothing more than a gesture for public consumption. The fact remains that American, French and British "special advisers" are actively involved with the opposition forces and from the available evidence they are losing as the "opposition" splinters and becomes even more fragmented.

France, United Kingdom and America seeking to regain the initiative

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/syria/10312315/Syria-West-vows-to-increase-backing-for-rebels.html Syria: West vows to increase backing for rebels  Laurent Fabius John Kerry and William Hague The determination of France, the United States and Great Britain to wage war against the Syrian people and to support the insurgency of fighters from Chechnya, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Israel and even the al- Qaeda linked groups, is as astounding in its hypocrisy as it is in its cynicism. Since this civil war started around two years ago,"the west" led initially be Great Britain and now joined by the French and the Americans, have been fervently seeking excuses to become involved in the conflict and to bring about, by any means, regime change in Damascus. The plans were thrown into some confusion when the House of Commons in the United Kingdom, voted against a government resolution authorising the use of force, closely followed by President Obama refe...

More frothy rhetoric than practical substance

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/09/14/us-and-russia-agree-deal-_n_3925763.html?utm_hp_ref=uk#comments   US And Russia Agree Deal Over Syria's Chemical Weapons  John Kerry Sergey Lavrov    The Syrians were not in Geneva in 2013, in much the same way as the Czechs were not in Munich in 1938. The resultant “agreement” however has the same sort of “peace in our time” ring about it as did the sheet of paper waved in the air at Heston Aerodrome all those years ago. John Kerry and Sergey Lavrov stood behind their respective l ecterns as Kerry presented the 6 point agreement, (after seemingly to forget that number six followed number five), outlining how Syria should produce a list of their chemical weapons within a week, how inspection should start by mid November and how the weapons must be handed over by June next year. At the end of Kerry's presentation, Lavrov chipped in with a vague reference as to how they “ mi...

Should diplomacy fail, the "blame game" is already taking shape.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/diplomatic-plan-to-force-syria-to-surrender-chemical-weapons-already-in-jeopardy-as-russia-and-us-lock-horns-8810074.html Diplomatic plan to force Syria to surrender chemical weapons already in jeopardy as Russia and US lock horns It really is nauseating how the western media, this time the Independant, immediately leap onto the bandwagon of "blame the Russians" if the diplomatic plan fails. "Russia puts deal to avert Syria war in jeopardy ahead of key meeting" screams out from the front page of the Independant, blaming Russia for the contrived French, American and British attempts to claw back initiative in their desperate desire to inflict "punishment" on the Syrian regime. The tactic of making unacceptable demands and blaming the other side for the failure of diplomacy is not a new one. The  Austro-Hungarian Ultimatum to Serbia of 23 July, 1914 is a classic example. The real French/America...

Crass and repugnant.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/syria-civil-war-barack-obama-tries-to-rally-waverers-ahead-of-congress-vote-on-us-strikes-8803988.html Barack Obama tries to rally waverers ahead of Congress vote on US strikes Desperation of a President.   The most crass and repugnant form of propaganda to be used by the United states to encourage an act of aggression against another country. Repugnant and sinister persuasion of the American people. "Videos of gas victims deployed along with a media campaign and proxies to persuade public to back Syria military action"

Breathtaking hypocrisy.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/08/syria-john-kerry-un-resolution?commentpage=6 John Kerry careful not to rule out return to UN for Syria resolution                                                                    The hypocrisy of the whole clamour by the west to attack Syria is is nauseating, not only in the way that lies, distortion and half truth is being turned into "irrefutable evidence" but also in the complete disregard of equally obscene ...

11 countries sign American "statement".

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/06/obama-alliance-assad-chemical-weapons  Obama assembles fragile alliance blaming Assad for chemical attacks   The usual suspects queue up at the G20, as they queue at the UN to line up behind the Americans in some  hope of currying favour and aid from Uncle Sam. Noticeable on the list are Saudi Arabia and Turkey both of which have a questionable history in their treatment of minority groups and opposition within their own borders. However, when it comes to hypocrisy, the western world with their holier than thou public statements and their Middle East camp followers, have few equals. Incidentally, it seems strange that Cameron can sign this scrap of paper on behalf of the United Kingdom, when the House of Commons voted against supporting an American escapade into Syria. Well Mr Cameron, you certainly did not sign it on my behalf.

"Who"? is the question, not the what.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/05/russia-west-gas-attack-syria   Russia and west clash over new British evidence of gas attack in Syria What is the problem with the western politicians, press and media? It is not really disputed that sarin gas was/is present and that there is ample evidence to corroborate that fact. The proof that people actually want to see before supporting military strikes is WHO used the chemical weapons. It is not enough for Kerry, Cameron, Obama and Hague to say that they know who is responsible and that we should trust them. We have been there before and WE know there is overwhelming evidence to prove that politicians lie in order to achieve their objectives.  Western politicians must answer the question being asked, not just repeat the same cliches that they have been trotting out for over three weeks.

Temper tantrum from Number 10.

The fact is of course that th e defeat of the government was brought about, essentially by the weight of public opinion being opposed to yet another war mongering escapade in the Middle East by a British government, and the memory amongst many MP's of the duplicitous way in which this country was duped into the Iraq invasion and war of 2003, despite overwhelming public opposition. Temper tantrums when being unable to get...

Obama turns to Congress, but the attack on Syria is only delayed.

Good cop/bad cop routines only work in second rate television soaps and even then are not really credible within the story line. Over the past 24 hours, we have had Kerry banging on about "what we know" (or perhaps that should have been "what we don't know), and throwing in the occasional, not very well concealed threat to shower Syria under a deluge of cruise missiles. Today (Saturday) we see (after a long pause for dramatic effect) Obama emerge from the Whitehouse and stand at the podium in the ...

Regardless of the Commons vote, or the weapons inspection teams or even the truth, Syria will be attacked.

http://www.mintpressnews.com/witnesses-of-gas-attack-say-saudis-supplied-rebels-with-chemical-weapons/168135/  Syrians In Ghouta Claim Saudi-Supplied Rebels Behind Chemical Attack             "Syrian rebels in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta have admitted to Associated Press journalist Dale Gavlak that they were responsible for last week’s chemical weapons incident which western powers have blamed on Bashar Al-Assad’s forces, revealing that the casualties were the result of an accident caused by rebels mishandling chemical weapons provided to them by Saudi Arabia."     Rebels and local residents in Ghouta accuse Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan of providing chemical weapons to an AL-Qaeda linked rebel group.
