A solution was never an option.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/02/15/syria-peace-talks_n_4794415.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Peace talks in Geneva are on the verge of collapse, UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi Did anyone really expect anything to come as a result of these "peace talks"? The FSA and the other 1001 rebel groups, are fighting with each other for control of regions of Syria and have wildly divergent social, political and economic aims. The only factor which they have in common is the objective of removing Bashar al-Assad from power. The only objective that America and the United Kingdom has, is regime change in Damascus and to this end, both are determined to launch a campaign of military intervention as soon as the climate of public opinion at home allows. With this objective, the politicians of both countries have embarked on a propaganda assault, enthusiastically taken up by the television and media, demonising Assad and thereby seeking to justify economic and military support for...

Another feeble "justification" for intervention.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/31/syrian-government-starve-or-surrender-civilians  Syrian government accused of 'starve or surrender' policy against civilians   The “starve or surrender” tactic has been employed in warfare since Roman times through the middle Ages, the Boer War and two World wars. For the United States  to suggest that this is some kind of new "atrocity" carried out by the Syrian government, demonstrates more of another exercise in clutching at any straw to whip up public opinion behind a military attack on Syria. Kerry chips in to this growing clamour for a UN resolution and subsequent intervention, with his comments that "“Bashar al-Assad is not, in our judgement, fully in compliance", in respect of the chemical weapons destruction. Another drip of propaganda to add to the accumulation of questionable "evidence". The United States and  the United Kingdom, have been intent since last year, of becoming ...

It was only a matter of time.

Sooner or later the Americans would have to start the "Syria is stalling", or "Syria must comply with its obligations" or "Syria is in defiance of the International community" or some other hysterical rhetoric pouring out of Washington. We have heard it all before in some context or other. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were preceded by the "International Community", otherwise known as the United States and the United Kingdom, trying to convince a skeptical world that "the bad guys" were at it again and that they must be punished. I have previously argued that it has always been the American and British objective to attack Syria and bring ab...

The "Friends of Syria" fail to agree.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-crisis-london-meeting-fails-to-deliver-hope-of-breakthrough-8897289.html   Syria crisis: London meeting fails to deliver hope of breakthrough Assad will play no role in transition, says US, UK and Saudi Arabia   The "Friends of Syria" meeting in London yesterday, (Tuesday 22nd October) broke up without any agreement in respect of the way forward. In fact one of the "friends", Saudi Arabia, is threatening to withdraw from the group largely in respon se to the failure of the American dominated clique to take any form of military action against the Syrian government and to be rather reticent in their support of the rebel groups in terms of hardware and weapons. This reticence is understandable in so far as the "Friends of Syria" support only part of the opposition to President Assad and are still faced with the problem which they have faced since the start of the civil war. Tha...

When it comes to hypocrisy, the Friends of Syria Group have few equals.

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2013/06/2013622144844127498.html  Friends of Syria pledge to arm rebels   Friends of Syria meeting in Qatar The Friends of Syria group (which includes the United States, United Kingdom, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc etc) agree to give "urgent military support" to Syrian rebels (who, under different circumstances, they would usually describe as terrorists) and at the same time they demand an immediate withdrawal of from Syria of "Hezbollah militias and fighters from Iran and Iraq". This is crass hypocrisy of the first order from western powers seeking long term advantage and favours from despotic Middle Eastern regimes who are not even wanted in their own countries where they rely on western weapons to retain their position. This is a bloody and awful civil war in Syria. The "Friends of Syria group" are making a bad situation even worse, the United States, Britain and France are pouri...
