(She ran off with an Irish photographer,but that's another story), then in the awful remake of "Upstairs Downstairs" which should have been consigned to the dustbin rather than shown on television.  "Lady Agnes Holland": Keeley Hawes in "Upstairs, Downstairs" Ashes to Ashes    Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes were classic series both now in my collection of boxed complete series. First with Sam Tyler and then Alex Drake with Gene Hunt, Ray Carling and Chris Skelton making up the cast for a quality British television series at its best. The fact is that governments desperately need to have this threat/fear level at the highest possible point, in order to maintain and justify all those other control measures which dominate peoples lives every day. At some point there will no doubt be another "terrorist attack" which the security services will not have predicted and this will ensure that the "War or terror", with all its associated restrictions, surveillance and "threat warnings" will subsist.
