Take the railways back into Public Ownership.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/network-rail-lose-control-tracks-chris-grayling-a7458041.html Network Rail to lose complete control of tracks in Government shake-up Another half baked scheme from a government tinkering with the peripheries of a problem and coming up with yet another "opportunity  to secure private sector investment". In any other words, an opportunity for some private companies to have access to vast sums of taxpayers (that's us) money and milk off huge profits for the benefit of their share holders and of course that all important "bottom line".  The only solution solution to the growing difficulties of the railways, from the point of view of the travelling passengers and of the tax payers, is for the entire railway network, the rolling stock, the operators, the infrastructure the stations and everything else to be brought back into public ownership. For far too long, the private companies have enj...

Government pumps another £20 million into privatised rail company

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/southern-rail-train-cancellations-privatisation-nationalisation-government-transport-secretary-a7220051.html#commentsDiv Private rail firm Southern will be boosted by a further £20 million of public money Another compelling argument, if more were needed, to take back the railways into public ownership. There is no justification for the British people continue to pump £ billions into the coffers of the rail companies and the pockets of their shareholders. Another £20 million subsidy

A degree of hypocrisy as Smith accuses Government of ‘covering up’ privatisation in the NHS .

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/labour-leadership-candidate-owen-smith-accuses-government-of-covering-up-privatisation-in-the-nhs-a7190411.html Owen Smith accuses Government of ‘covering up’ privatisation in the NHS Owen Smith Owen Smith, "The Stooge Candidate" (because nobody in PLP had the backbone to take on Corbyn themselves), has had the veil lifted from his eyes and realises what many of us in the Labour Party have been saying for years. The Conservative government and the ConDem coalition before them, are destroying the NHS with their programmes of cuts, closures and piecemeal privatisation. The Blair government started the process with PFI and the Conservatives have accelerated this smashing  of a National Institution which they have despised since 1948. Strangely, Smith (who was never Shadow Health Minister; another of Smith's distortions of truth), must have been aware of this breakup of the NHS for sometime, as he was once working ...

Government Alchemists promote another "sale" for the British people.

https://www.minds.com/blog/view/456455953705865216/iceland-recovering-fastest-in-europe-after-jailing-bankers-instead-of-bailing-them-out Iceland Recovering Fastest in Europe After Jailing Bankers Instead of Bailing them Out George Osborne's bargain basement sale has left taxpayers with a £1.1billion loss The British tax payer (you and I that is) poured £45billion of our money into RSB as a "State Bailout". Consequently, it seems to me that we own the bank. Gideon is now selling off our shares (and he didn't even ask our permission) in RSB at knock down prices to friends in the city and at a loss to us, the taxpayers. There is a small bribe for the taxpayer however, that the government will allow us to buy a tiny percentage of the available shares, and with a minute discount o n the price! As with other privatisations, Gas, Water, Electricity, Railways etc, the government Alchemists manage to persuade sections of the public to purchase that whi...

Huge profits for private companies at the expense of society..

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/water-giants-make-2billion-profit-4703371 Water giants make £2BILLION in profit - but SEVEN of them didn't pay a penny in tax   4/5ths of this planet is covered with water. Yet some private companies, many of them ultimately foreign owned , make £billions in profits selling an essential commodity to the people of this country. Without water, we would all die and these privately owned companies are very much aware of that simple fact. The great obscenity of the privatisation of the water companies, is that a government took what the nation already owned, sold it to their friends in the city, who then offered shares for sale to a few small "investors" and control of the water industry to a small number of large corporations who have been milking the profits ever since. It is a gross perversity,  that companies can make huge profits from the sale of water and collectively pay little if any tax.  There are certa...

Care UK pay no Corporation Tax, but reduce employees wages by 35%

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/aug/09/former-nhs-carers-intensify-strike-over-pay?guni=Keyword:news-grid%20main-1%20Main%20trailblock:Editable%20trailblock%20-%20news:Position2:anchor%20image Fifty carers for disabled began action nearly seven weeks ago after Care UK reduced pay by up to 35% Doncaster Care UK workers Another example, as if more were needed, of a "privatisation" sale resulting in the cutting of workers salaries in order to maximise profit. Privatisation has never, and never has, had anything to do with "driving costs down and improving services" It is always about the greed of the private equity-backed firms taking over public services and either asset stripping or cutting wages and salaries. In this case another part of our NHS has been sold off, this time to Care UK, whose former chairman Lord Nash is now a government minister. Care UK and a partner Company, Silver Sear, have "tax-efficient" financial structures i...

A rip off and sale of a public asset in the name of political dogma.

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/jul/11/royal-mail-sale-lost-1bn-says-select-committee Royal Mail sale under-priced by £1bn Royal Mail Rip-off It is now officially confirmed, what many of us have been arguing for over a year "the government worried too much about pushing the privatisation through at the expense of getting the best price". Consequently, this government in general and Vince Cable in particular, have given away a public asset to their friends in the city and the British taxpayer (and the people generally) have been the victims of a massive fraud instigated to achieve a political objective. Cable, as the architect of this sell off should be sacked, either because he is/was incompetent or he was part of the Conservative conspiracy to put political dogma before national interest.

"Theives" gain a 13.3p dividend as Royal Mail Profits rise to £430million.

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/may/22/royal-mail-annual-profits-rise-competition-rivals Royal Mail annual profits rise Royal Mail sorting staff   Operating profit after one-off costs rose to £430m from £403m a year earlier on revenue up 2% to£9.46bn. In its first set of annual results since last year's flotation, the group announced a 13.3p dividend for the second half of the year. Another "little" bonus for the the thieving bankers, hedge funds and "investment" brokers, aided and abetted by  the duplicitous Cable and the other ConDem government conspirators who stole this organisation at the time of privatisation and defrauded the British public of £ millions.

More medical staff is one answer, not more layers of "management".

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/may/09/hospitals-need-thousands-extra-nurses-or-patients-safety-at-risk New NHS guidelines propose maximum of eight patients to one nurse to prevent dangerous understaffing Safe nursing levels recommended   Hospitals need thousands of extra nurses 'or patients' safety will be at risk' More confirmation of what many of us have been saying for years. The cuts imposed by this ConDem coalition, are decimating the NHS and not only in staffing levels for nurses. The whole structure is being systematically dismantled, in preparation for selling to Tory "friends" in the private sector. Successive governments have contributed to various degrees, to the decline in the NHS and have perpetuated the fallacy that more levels of "management" producing their graphs, charts, statistics and medical prioritisations, are far more important than increasing the numbers of doc...

Bring back British Rail !

What a good idea! . Bring back British Rail!   "The train companies receive huge sums of taxpayers money in the form of grants every year. The train companies receive huge sums of money in the form of ticket charges, and every year inflate this ticket revenue with fare increases way above inflation levels. Every year, the train company "bosses" siphon off a large portion of this income to pay themselves six figure salaries and bonuses and to provide large dividends to their "investors". The rest of this taxpayer funded (one way or another) income is explained as being necessary for "investment projects" on the rail network. The only purpose of the privatisation of British Rail was to provide a bottomless pit of income for private companies and investors. It had nothing to do with "improving services and driving down costs" nothing to do with "providing value and saving money for the taxpayer" and it had nothing to do w...

Bring the rail network back into public ownership.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/may/03/rail-state-control-ed-miliband?guni=Keyword:news-grid%20main-1%20Main%20trailblock:Editable%20trailblock%20-%20news:Position1:anchor%20image   Bring rail under state's control to win back power   Renationalisation of the rail network.   "Bring the rail network back into national ownership if Labour wins the next election" A very good idea and a step in the right direction. The problem of course is that today's Labour Party, at least the leadership and the hierarchy of the party, lack the political will to take the necessary steps to bring about the return of this asset to public ownership. There are some industries which are far too important to society to be left to the vagaries of private enterprise. Privatisation has failed and penalised the consumer, the tax payer and the public in all of the industries privatised to date. For complete failure, we need look no further than British Rail. For exploita...

The Royal Mail privatisation rip off, will not be investigated. Are we really surprised?

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/04/28/royal-mail-fca-margaret-hodge-_n_5226303.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Royal Mail Privatisation Will Not Face Probe, Says City Watchdog   Business Secretary Vince Cable and Business Minister Michael Fallon FCA chief executive Martin Wheatley "FCA chief executive Martin Wheatley told MPs that the watchdog had seen no evidence of regulatory failure, despite being unable to say if the process - which saw Royal Mail's share price soar 38% in the first day - had entirely complied with the rules as it had not launched an investigation." The government, certainly the Tory part of it, "gave away" Royal mail at a knock down price to friends in the city. The "sale" of a few shares to the workforce at Royal mail was no more than a token gesture. It is hardly surprising that the scam privatisation will not be probed by the Financial Conduct Authority. Like the man said, "They are a...

Miliband calling for price controls when he should be addressing the real problem.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/mar/27/ed-miliband-energy-price-controls-freeze-big-six Ed Miliband to propose fresh energy price controls    Miliband will tell the Federation of Small Businesses that he wants to create an open market economy where small businesses can grow and make bigger profits. Ed Miliband.   The "policy" to control energy prices is popular amongst a large proportion of the public, (aka. voters). The only question is which, of the variants from each of the major parties solutions to achieve the same objective, will the voters select as their preferred option? Each segment of the Coalition, Miliband's version of Labour, and soon no doubt to be joined by Farange and his UKIP, compete with each other to offer what they hope will be the most popular solution to solve the problem and "deal with the broken energy market" and finally end the energy companies cartel in the supply and distribution of energy in this cou...

Royal Mail to sack 1300 people.

http://news.sky.com/story/1231405/royal-mail-confirms-plans-to-axe-1300-jobs Royal Mail Confirms Plans To Axe 1,300 Jobs Royal Mail sorting staff The government sale of Royal Mail to their "friends" in the city for a give away price was predicted at the time to be bad for Royal Mail, bad for its customers and most importantly bad for the people employed by the organisation. Today's news that 1300 people are to be sacked comes as no surprise to those of us who have opposed the whole concept of privatisation for many years. The pillaging of Royal Mail is just the latest example of Tory plundering of public assets. The sacking of the 1300 will not be the last.

Chair of Royal College of GP's expresses "grave concerns for the sustainability of the NHS".

The parasitic friends of the Tory's have already devoured large parts of the NHS are are queuing like marauding hyena's  to scavenge at the remaing carcass. There has always been an intense resentment towards the NHS from within the Conservative party, and now it seems that they feel confident enough to disband the entire structure and revert to the health care and standards of ...
