Is the Telegraph being mischievous again?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/Jeremy_Corbyn/11876087/Chuka-Umunna-suggests-Jeremy-Corbyns-victory-could-lead-to-riots.html?fb_ref=Default Chuka Umunna suggests Jeremy Corbyn's victory could lead to riots Chuka Umunna and Jeremy Corbyn   Is Chukka Umunna a liar, or a hypocrite or is the Telegraph being mischievous again? Back at the beginning of September the member for Streatham said ""We must all work with Jeremy Corbyn", going on to say that we must "not make the mistake of giving the impression that electability requires the party to ditch its principles". Hardly the words of a man who see's his leader as paving the way for violence and uprisings on the streets of the cities and towns around the United Kingdom. The telegraph uses the old tactic of creating a threat, ( which is not there) and then mobilising (or at least attempting to) public opinion to resist. much in the same way as the  press in Nazi Germany generated ...

What is the motive of the Telegraph in alleging that 40 years ago, two 20 somethings were lovers?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/Jeremy_Corbyn/11870739/Jeremy-Corbyn-and-Diane-Abbott-were-lovers.html?fb_ref=Default Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott were lovers (says the Telegraph) Then          Now   Unnamed "sources", unattributed comments, anonymous smears and the "Telegraph" pours out the slime with its usual relish for a 40 year old whisper with which to add another smear to their anti Corbyn agenda. What make the Telegraph so obnoxious and reprehensible is their obvious delectation for peddling lies, distortion and insult on anyone who they oppose or are afraid of. Their "journalists" too wallow in this cesspit of excrement, having prostituted themselves and their profession on the altar of duplicity. The Telegraph joins the others of the gutter press and exhibits all that is despicable about the media in this country today.

Baron Kinnock of Bedwelty chips into support Andy Burnham, (or anyone but Jeremy Corbyn)

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/aug/01/neil-kinnock-labour-leader-andy-burnham Labour needs a prime minister, not a debate. It needs Andy Burnham Baron Kinnock of Bedwelty   The Guardian has closed comments on the Neil Kinnock intervention. Now why is that I wonder? Kinnock, or the well known Baron Kinnock, led the Labour between 1983 and 1992 and managed to loose 2 general elections and started the drive for the pursuit of popularity in place of principle. Baron Kinnock of Bedwelty, who ironically was a long time critic of the House of Lords before becoming a Life Peer, joins Blair, Straw and a few other "elders" of the Labour party calling for policies of care, opportunity, security, fairness and freedom, and "offering coherent, practical answers to daily challenges, and tangible prospects of fulfilling hopes and ambitions in housing, employment and enterprise". Strange it is that during the years of Labour governments sinc...

"One member, one vote" could produce a result that none of the "Tory-Lite" factions or the media could contemplate.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jul/31/corbyn-supporters-risk-return-to-labour-splits-of-1980s-says-burnham#comment-56746658 Andy Burnham says Corbyn supporters risk return to Labour splits of 1980s. Andy Burnham Burnham is rapidly going off the boil. At the start of this campaign, even before the names on the ballot paper were finalised, Burnham seemed a credible candidate to take on the leadership role, albeit that he was, and still is, including a slower and less severe austerity programme as part of his proposals for Labour party policy in the years to come. Personally, I would not vote for him, or a Labour party led by him, but he would have been the preferable option to either Cooper or Kendall. However, by abstaining from voting on the crucial welfare and reform bill a couple of weeks ago, linking with Cooper and Kendall in falling over themselves seeking to avoid a simple question from a listener on the Ian Dale LBC Radio ...

Support for Jeremy Corbyn grows by the day

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-steams-ahead-in-labour-leadership-race-as-another-trade-union-pledges-support-10428348.html Corbyn steams ahead in Labour leadership race as another trade union pledges support Jeremy Corbyn Two more Trade Unions and another batch of Constituency party organisations, endorse Jeremy Corbyn for the Labour Party leadership. We are told however, that "critics" still claim that he is not electable. It is worth noting that these "critics" are predominately the media and television who have their own agenda for supporting their particular choice from the other candidates and Blair with his camp followers. It is the "Tory light" version of the Labour party that would ensure the continuation of a Conservative government into the foreseeable future. A Jeremy Corbyn led Labour party offers a clear and distinct alternative to the "status quo" of the tired old Labour polici...

Cooper, Burnham and Kendall offer only more of the same.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/yvette-cooper-our-choice-is-years-of-tory-rule-under-jeremy-corbyn-or-a-return-to-a-labour-government-10422279.html Yvette Cooper: Labour members have “a choice of two futures”, if Jeremy Corbyn wins the Labour leadership. Yvette Cooper Yvette Cooper would have us believe that only she, or Burnham or Kendall (and obviously she would prefer it to be herself) can provide a return to power for Labour. It is a message that many people in this country may find rather familiar. The message that says only the right or centre right of the Labour party, is capable of securing an election victory to beat the Conservative and form a government. It is the same message which has been trotted out for many years with dwindling impact upon the electorate. The reasons why the Labour party has lost so much of its membership over the past 20 years together with a hemorrhage of voters to the SNP in Scotland and to UKIP i...

The "Independent" has become just a poor facsimile of the other "rags".

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-less-electable-than-under-ed-miliband-and-needs-radical-rethink-to-regain-power-10420140.html   Labour leadership: New poll shows party is now even 'less electable' than under Ed Miliband Which one of these candidates will succeed Ed Miliband? Some time ago, the “Independent” was just that. A newspaper giving an independent view of events and stories from both within the United Kingdom and from around the world. Since the arrival of the “new” editorial regime however, the “Independent” has degenerated into a rather poor facsimile of the other press outlets competing in the media world, for the rather dubious position of being the most biased and deceitful right wing rag on the newsagent racks and the “online” news sites. In this, the “Independent” joins the “Mail” and the “Telegraph” on that fringe of the media spectrum, which provides a compelling case for merging the “Independent” with one or other of t...

Media bias and Conservative duplicity sinks to new depths.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32141412?comments Bosses' letter backing Tories Telegraph front page It is not just that of these 100 "company leaders" more than 90% are either major contributors to Conservative Party fund, or Conservative Lords, or members of the Conservative Party and its management structure or a combination of all, it is even more sinister than that. The Conservative Party election machine have gained electoral profit from a full front page advert for their election campaign in today's Daily Telegraph. Not an advert on half page or page somewhere inside, but a complete, whole front page. Whether this blatant, cynical abuse should or will be declared as a Conservative election expense remains to be seen and whether the Press Council make take some issue with a "Newspaper" which publishes a letter which is clearly election propaganda for one of the parties is doubtful. There has historically been a pr...

A new investigation into MP's expenses abuse?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/exclusive-inquiry-into-tory-conference-gaysex-party-paid-on-expenses-9255489.html Inquiry into Tory conference ‘gay-sex party paid on expenses’    Trust is damaged     Almost on a weekly basis, some allegation or other comes to light of expenses abuse by MP's This week, the allegation, now being investigated is that the taxpayer indirectly funded a hotel suite that was used for a gay-sex party. It seems that an organisation called the Policy Research Unit (PRU), which is overseen by senior Conservative figures, booked a suite of rooms costing up to £2,500 per night at Manchester’s Light ApartHotel, during a Conservative Party conference. It would appear that Conservative MP's pay nearly £4,000 a year to the PRU which they claim back through the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa). This latest "revelation" come in the same week as Culture Secretary Maria Miller, was forced to resign from the go...

An official State Government policy for the killing of protected species.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/10611526/Thousands-rally-against-shark-cull-in-Australia.html Thousands rally against shark cull in Australia It is their environment.   Killing hundreds, (if not thousands), of sharks and anything else which happens to take the bait on these disgusting baited drum lines with hooks, is a cruel and barbaric practice. When the only purpose of the "cull" is to prevent  shark attacks on humans, the policy is even more obscene. In any event, this policy of slaughter will have little if any effect on the number of shark attacks which average 15 per year and of those only one proves fatal.  Colin Barnett holding a hook, part of the baited drum line This policy is another example of cruelty against animals for no reason other than human indulgence. Many sharks are in fact endangered species and there are international agreements to protect them, particularly the Great White....

EU to ban olive oil jugs from restaurants

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/eu/10064787/EU-to-ban-olive-oil-jugs-from-restaurants.html The small glass jugs filled with green or gold coloured extra virgin olive oil are familiar and traditional for restaurant goers across Europe but they will be banned from 1 January 2014 The European Union is to ban olive oil jugs and dipping bowls from restaurant tables. "From next year olive oil "presented at a restaurant table" must be in pre-packaged, factory bottles with a tamper-proof dispensing nozzle and labelling in line with EU industrial standards."   Lunacy, sheer bloody lunacy. We should get out of this mad house of European ultra bureaucratic committees before we are all running around in circles screaming "Ban it ! Ban it !"  Unless of course running around in circles has been banned by some European ultra bureaucratic committee.

This story should cause outrage.

Our money going straight into the pocket of an over paid, expense claiming, freeloader.

Axed from Daily Telegraph website after just two days

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/media/press/axed-from-daily-telegraph-website-after-just-two-days-kelvin-mackenzie-still-cant-handle-the-truth-8562591.html Former Sun editor loses online column after Hillsborough backlash: Kelvin MacKenzie still can't handle 'The Truth' Kelvin MacKenzie  The obnoxious Kelvin MacKenzie sacked from the Daily Telegraph after just two days. Perhaps there may be such a thing as natural justice after all. He should now take the hint and retire to some very remote island in the middle of the Pacific and vent his spleen where there is no one to listen or even care.
