The obscenity of Egyptian "Show Trials" continues.

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jun/18/al-jazeera-employees-among-six-people-sentenced-to-death-in-egypt Al-Jazeera employees among six sentenced to death in Egypt   The obscenity of Egyptian "show trials" since Al-Sisi, with outside help and encouragement, staged the coup of   3rd July 2013 and overthrew a democratically elected President. For as long as western governments and Israel continue to support and bolster this tinpot dictator, loathed by the majority of Egyptians, so will he continue his program of imprisonments, show trials, persecution and executions of any people or groups opposed to his despotic regime.  He has been give "carte blanche" by the west to crush any opposition, real or imagined, to permanently extinguish all traces of the "Egyptian Spring", to re install a military dictatorship in the country. In December of 2013, I wrote in New Agenda under the heading of "T he Egyptian people are th...

When the result is decided before you go to the polls, why bother to vote?

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/18/egypt-parliamentary-elections-shore-up-sisi#comment-61687268 Low turnout as Egyptians shun elections designed to shore up Sisi    "President"Abdel Fattah al-Sisi   This is what happens when a despot conspirator instigates an illegal coup against a democratically elected President, then with the backing and financial support of the "West" and Israel, imprisons any opposition, stages sham show trials and executes political opponents. In May of 2014, I wrote "Polling stations empty, few voters but still only one pre determined winner. No doubt the final figures will show that "99% of voters" cast their ballots and of these the "vast majority" chose al-Sisi. A sham election, with a sham outcome. The coup of (last year) 2013, (no matter what the Americans may call a military take over), which overthrew a democratically elected President has completed the circle and installed ...

A history of failed foreign policy.

http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/what-a-choice-for-egypt--a-megalomaniac-president-or-the-madness-of-isis-10400354.html What a choice for Egypt – a megalomaniac president or the madness of Isis American "foreign policy"  As is invariably the case in the foreign policy options of the United States, particularly in the Middle east, the American have managed to screw up an entire country and crate an infinitely worse and more dangerous situation than that which existed before their infantile meddling. By encouraging and supporting (perhaps even participating in) the overthrow of a democratically elected President and replacing him with a military dictatorship led by a despotic little General, the Americans have ensured that Isis (another failed experiment where an American organised and financed organisation has morphed into a dangerous and brutal "terrorist" group) has spread its influence to yet another country. The evidence after years o...

The Al-Sisi junta and the latest show trial.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/ousted-egyptian-president-mohammed-morsi-jailed-for-20-years-over-the-death-of-protesters-10191546.html Mohamed Morsi: Ousted Egyptian president jailed for 20 years      Mohamed Morsi: Egypt's first freely elected leader Bloody outrageous. The Show trials set up by the Al-Sisi dictatorship claims another victim. The democtatically elected Presisident of Egypt, overthrown in a Coup instigated by Al-Sisi and supported and encouraged by the United States has avoided the death penalty but faces 20 years in prison. The "Democracies" of the world particularly the United States, should hang their heads in shame at this insult to the principle of justice and their part in supporting the growing excesses of the Al-Sisi cabal. This is a bad day for democracy.

A corrupt and rotten regime

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/egypt-coup-leaked-tape-proves-defence-minister-tried-to-conceal-morsis-true-location-in-military-prison-say-forensic-scientists-10066042.html Egypt coup: Leaked tape proves defence minister tried to conceal Morsi’s true location in military prison      With all the experience that America has in organising coup de tat in other peoples countries, they seem to have missed a few points when advising Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his gang of conspirators.   This revelation of new evidence will not make one iota of difference.  The al-Sisi cabal will continue their ruthless suppression of all opposition and their obscene show trials of Innocent people and the Americans will continue to deny that the events of 2013 were in fact a coup de tat, which will allow them to carry on pouring armaments, aircraft and cash into the Egyptian military machine. A corrupt and rotten administratio...

Al-Sisi 's Egypt blocks humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza.

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/07/19/371963/egypt-halts-gazabound-aid-convoy/   Egypt halts Gaza-bound aid convoy   Egypt blocks aid convoy from reaching crossing with Gaza The Egypt of Al-Sisi. The duplicitous conspirator who seized power in the July coup two years ago. Al-Sisi, the pro American, pro Israel and anti Palestinian dictator. Why should Hamas or anyone else trust this despicable tyrant, who is even worse than Mubarak? Al-Sisi proposes a cease fire which actually requires the complete capitulation of the people in Gaza and condemns them to a continuing blockade and occupation. The Americans and Israeli's of course consider it to be a good deal and castigates Hamas for rejecting a fait accompli agreement to which they were not even invited. Egypt, Israel and America are guilty of crimes against humanity.

Censorship at the Independent, Guardian and Huffington Post

Censorship at the Independent, Guardian and Huffington Post (to name but three) is working overtime at the moment predominately it seems on the subject of the Israeli air strikes and naval bombardment of Gaza and the killing of civilians. Any article, comment or observation even remotely critical of the Israeli government in Tel Aviv, is removed swiftly and without any reason or explanation to the author. The posts just disappear, rather like Palestinians in Hebron or Nablus or Ramalah or a hundred other towns in the occupied territories. This morning I have had personal experience of the Independent, Guardian and Huffington Post censors. I posted the text of, “The "collective guilty conscience" of the governments in the western world.” ( http://new-agenda2012.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/european.html ), in the comments section of an item published on their pages. In the case of the Independent, the item was in response to an article by their Yasmin Alibhai Brown. The paper...

The "collective guilty conscience" of the governments in the western world.

Although to judge by the words and actions of the western powers, the observer would be excused for thinking that no one has really noticed. Over the course of the last 7 days, more than 120 civilians have been killed in Gaza as a result of airstrike or naval bombardment from ships blockading the area. The latest killings and military attacks are but the most recent events in an almost endless stream of "tit for tat" reprisal and counter reprisal which have been going on for nearly 50 years, littered with a few full scale military invasions of both Palestinian lands in the form of the Gaza strip and ...
