Is the Telegraph being mischievous again?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/Jeremy_Corbyn/11876087/Chuka-Umunna-suggests-Jeremy-Corbyns-victory-could-lead-to-riots.html?fb_ref=Default Chuka Umunna suggests Jeremy Corbyn's victory could lead to riots Chuka Umunna and Jeremy Corbyn   Is Chukka Umunna a liar, or a hypocrite or is the Telegraph being mischievous again? Back at the beginning of September the member for Streatham said ""We must all work with Jeremy Corbyn", going on to say that we must "not make the mistake of giving the impression that electability requires the party to ditch its principles". Hardly the words of a man who see's his leader as paving the way for violence and uprisings on the streets of the cities and towns around the United Kingdom. The telegraph uses the old tactic of creating a threat, ( which is not there) and then mobilising (or at least attempting to) public opinion to resist. much in the same way as the  press in Nazi Germany generated ...

Sky News is inventive.

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2014/jul/06/nick-pollard-sky-news-bbc-news  Nick Pollard: ‘Sky News is always more inventive and energetic than BBC News’ Nick Pollard "Sky News is always more inventive and energetic than BBC News" Absolutely right. Sky News is fast becoming a duplicate of its "sister channel" Fox News. When there is a story to report, Sky News will embellish, distort or otherwise change its emphasis to fit in with their preconceived version of "the truth". Where this is not possible they will employ their usual tactic. "Where the facts do not fit our story, invent new facts."

More negative rhetoric from the British media.

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/apr/29/10-good-reasons-not-vote-ukip-nigel-farage-europe   The negative propaganda of the Guardian    Hugh Muir:  Guardian's diary editor On the 27th April I wrote in the paper (Guardian 27th April 2014: Nigel Farage is a phoney. Scrutinise him and he'll crumble.) and on this Blog (Negative rhetoric from the media reaches new low), a comment criticising the way in which media coverage of British politics, particularly in respect of Farage and UKIP has degenerated into a rather poor copy of the American media where negativity and personality assassination is the driving force and order of the day, rather than any consideration of policy. I do not support UKIP and consequently would never vote for them, but this “Article” by Hugh Muir in today's Guardian (Wednesday 30th April 2014)  vividly demonstrates how the media are fixated on the perceived “threat” of UKIP and will use all means of prop...

Hague compares Homs to Srebrenica.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-conflict-the-spectre-of-srebrenica-hangs-over-besieged-old-city-of-homs-warns-william-hague-9120167.html   Syria conflict: The spectre of Srebrenica hangs over besieged Old City of Homs, warns William Hague " Free Syrian Army" inside a damaged building in Homs Hague and Kerry, continue the steady drip of emotive comparisons, attempting to move public opinion to support a military intervention by the "International Community" or more accurately, the United States and United Kingdom, in the Syrian civil war. For the last few years. if not longer, the objective in Washington and London has been for regime change in Syria. Having been frustrated in this ambition by their respective legislative bodies, they now attempt another route to countenance military intervention in support of the numerous rebel factions. This is a bloody and vicious civil war, and regardless of what the warmongering pol...

The hidden agenda of Kerry, Hague and the "Opposition Coalition".

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/22/syria-peace-talks-assad-future Syria peace talks: John Kerry leads calls for removal of President Bashar al-Assad U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon   The arrogance of Kerry and to only a slightly lesser extent Hague, demonstrating the hypocrisy and duplicity of the "Western Powers" in their continued campaign to find any excuse to attack Syria, no matter what the people of the United States or United Kingdom may say. At yesterday's (Wednesday 22nd January 2014) opening speeches to what has been described as "Geneva 11", and at news conferences later in the day, Kerry launched astonishing attacks on the so called "Assad Regime" in speeches full of rhetoric, unsubstantiated allegations and distorted history. It is indeed ironic that, after the uncompromising speech from Walid Muallem Syria's foreign minister, criticising the Western Powers for supportin...

BBC propaganda in favour of intervention.

http://scriptonitedaily.wordpress.com/2013/09/03/why-is-the-bbc-banging-the-war-drum-on-syria-just-look-who-runs-it/ Why is the BBC Banging the War Drum on Syria? Just Look Who Runs It Who runs the BBC and why are they peddling "Pro intervention" in the Syrian civil war argument? Sky News are very much in favour of air strikes and everyone knows that Sky and it's "sister" channel Fox News are owned and run by the same person. However the question remains Why is the BBC Banging the War Drum on Syria and  who runs it? This article throws some light on the subject of BBC control and suggests why they seem so keen on a second vote in the Commons and intervention in Syria.

"The West" are preparing us for a war against Syria.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/syria-air-attacks-loom-as-britain-and-us-pledge-to-use-force-within-two-weeks-8784435.html   Syria: air attacks loom as Britain and US pledge to use force within two weeks    Intelligence on targets would come from pilotless drones patrolling the skies above Syria and special forces on the ground. For many months prior to the start of the Second World War, the German press and media, had conducted a campaign of distortion and myth essentially directed at Poland, with the objective of justifying their subsequent aggression against that country, culminating with the invasion of September 1st 1939, and instigating, what became the deadliest conflict in human history, with an estimated 50 million to 85 million fatalities. The “art” of propaganda, was described in Mien Kampf with the words “ The art of propaganda consists precisely in being able to awaken the imagination of the publi...

Propaganda breakdown.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/05/09/iain-duncan-smith-benefit-cap-rebuked_n_3245186.html?utm_hp_ref=uk  Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan-Smith has been rebuked for falsely claiming the coalition's controversial benefits cap had already caused 8,000 people to move into jobs. Ever since Roman times, politicians (and others) have used propaganda to spread ideas and perceptions amongst people, to further a specific message or political position. Garth Jowett and Victoria O'Donnell provided  a definition as  "Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behavior to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist." The most refined manifestation of this was of course, Joseph Goebbels and his use of a propaganda machine between 1926 and 1945 in Germany. "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it". ...
