Gerald Coyne accuses the Unite general secretary of meddling too much in Westminster politics,

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/dec/17/unite-leader-under-attack-puppet-master-jeremy-corbyn Unite leadership challenger Gerard Coyne says Len McCluskey has put Labour infighting above members’ needs Gerald Coyne Len McCluskey Gerald Coyne, another of the Quasi intellectuals so much in favour with the Guardian and other "centrist" media who will grasp at any opportunity, now matter how small or how unclear such opportunity may be, in their incessant campaign to remove Jeremy Corbyn from the leadership of the Labour party. In his bid to replace Len McCluskey as General Secretary of "Unite", Coyne accuses the Unite general secretary of meddling too much in Westminster politics , a comment which in itself is reason enough for members to re elect McCluskey for another term. Had the TUC generally and other specific Trade Union leaders in particular , spent more time over the last 18 months "meddl...

This government is declaring war against the people of this country

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jul/16/nhs-consultants-given-ultimatum-on-weekend-working NHS consultants given ultimatum on weekend working    The leader             The fiscal "mastermind"                 Destroying the NHS     Leading the war on welfare Leading the assaults on Trade Unions       Hunt oversimplifies (as usual), a very complex matter in order to send an ultimatum from his government department to yet another sector of society. With numerous ultimatums and threats over the past week, there seems to be no part of society which this wretched government is not seeking to declare war on. Fighting a war on two fronts is never a good idea (just ask the Germans), but Cameron, Osborne, Javid and now Hunt are instigating hostilities against ordinary people all around the country.     ...

They have sowed the wind

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jul/15/labour-leadership-candidates-ideologically-driven-union-crackdown         The biggest crackdown on trade union rights for 30 years                Not content with punishing the sick, disabled and welfare claimants with pernicious cuts to expenditure and services, the rabid right of the Conservative government, now declare war on the Trade Union movement. By attacking ordinary working people the government have laid the seeds of discontent and civil conflict in this country. "They have sowed the wind and now they are going to reap the whirlwind"

Workers face ban on striking .

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jul/15/trade-unions-conservative-offensive-decades-strikes-labour?CMP=share_btn_fb     Tories launch biggest crackdown on trade unions for 30 years         The Labour party must oppose the continuing assault on ordinary people in this country. Organisation and protests against the excesses of this Conservative government is essential. Should Harriet Harman suggest even partial support for Conservative policies, she is clearly in the wrong party.

The Labour Party belongs to people, not a bunch of lawyers, accountants, career politicians and political opportunists.

I am getting really hacked off with the constant banging on from media, pundits, Tory MP's, comments in the correspondence sections and many others about the Labour Party and the “links” with the trade Union movement. These people clearly have their own agenda and conveniently ignore, if they ever knew, the historic roots of the Labour Party. In the late 19th and early 20th Century, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) a “special conference to establish a voice for working people within parliament” led to the first Labour MP's being elected to Parliament. The aims and objectives of the Labour Party and the Trade Union Congress have historically been the representation and well being of ordinary people and were...

Labour offers "No change"

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/05/29/future-labour-government-will-not-undo-hugely-unpopular-coalition-cuts_n_5413596.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Future Labour Government will not undo Coalition Government Cuts        Ed Miliband And Ed Balls   Labour will not undo ConDem Coalition cuts. Labour have not undone Tory anti trade union legislation. Labour will not  restore the real reductions in pensions, nor will they reverse the increases in taxation for working people imposed at the same time as reductions in taxes for millionaire. The Labour party will not restore essential public services, energy, water, railways to public ownership and prevent the excesses of privatised industries and their profiteering at the expense of their customers and the country. The Labour party will not commence a programme of house building, particularly in the social housing sector, to address the chronic and shameful housing shortage in this country. This ...

Realignment of the Left?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/unite-union-boss-len-mccluskey-threatens-to-launch-party-to-rival-labour-9231266.html Unite union boss Len McCluskey threatens to launch party to rival Labour Len McCluskey: General Secretary of Unite "a rival party could be created to challenge Labour if it does not win next year." The need for a new party on the Left of British politics is already clearly evident. Whether the Labour party win the next general election or not, is neither here nor there. By qualifying the suggestion of a new party, McCluskey repeats the very same duplicity which has plagued the present Labour party for decades. Namely that ideology and principle are somehow linked to winning elections and that such principles can be shelved or even discarded in order to achieve electoral success. That was one, but not the only one, of the reasons why I left the Labour party shortly before Blair became leader. Labour had degenerated from a party...

Robert "Bob" Crow (13 June 1961 – 11 March 2014)

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/mar/11/bob-crow-dies-52-rmt-union-leader Bob Crow, RMT leader, dies of suspected heart attack at 52 Bob Crow, RMT general secretary   Robert "Bob" Crow (13 June 1961 – 11 March 2014)  A great loss to the trade union movement and to Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) in particular. Bob Crow retained the values and the historic principles of the Labour movement as true representatives of working people and their families in this country. Unlike the Labour Party which has, over the past decades,  drifted further and further to the right of the political spectrum, Crow would not abandon the traditional roots of the Labour movement  in pursuit of short term popularity and personal advancement.

David Owen will feel comfortable in today's Labour Party

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/david-owen-returns-labour-party-3197563 David Owen founder of the breakaway SDP has pledged to back the Labour Party party Labour turncoat David Owen   This duplicitous conspirator left the Labour Party with the others in the "Gang of 4" when it became perfectly clear to him that he would never be the leader of the Party. Following the CLPD reforms on the questions of MP's reselection and the election of Party leader, (to mention but 2 of the other democratic changes to the Party Constitution made at the time), he along with Roy Jenkins, William Rodgers and Shirley Williams, left the Labour Party to form the Social Democratic Party, which was neither “democratic” or “social” but which was created simply as a vehicle for them to satisfy and promote their own inflated ego's. Ironically, one of the names considered for the new party following the “Limehouse Declaration” was New Labour. The name and the p...

All Trade Unions links with the Labour party should be severed completely

http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2014/feb/27/unite-labour-possible-funding-cut  "Unite" to consider cut in affiliation fees. Len McCluskey  general secretary of Unite    The Labour Party was destroyed by Blair, Mandellson, Brown, Campbell and the other conspirators of "New Labour", many of whom still sit in the Commons today. Len McCluskey is stating what many trade unions are now accepting as fact, rather than the rhetoric of Miliband minor and the rest of the party "leadership" are trotting out in seeking to preserve their positions. It is time that the TUC and all affiliated organisation followed the lead of Unite and dumped the Labour party completely.

Miliband following Blair.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/02/21/ed-miliband-change-labour-tony-blair_n_4834119.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Miliband To Radically Change Labour Party Far More Than Blair   Blair and Miliband: Full circle   Miliband has still not grasped the essential truth. The reasons for the disillusionment people feel about politics, the decline in numbers of people voting in elections, the growing perception of a rift between politicians and public has nothing to do with leadership elections within the party, reforms in the relationship between the Trade Union movement and the party or even Prime Ministers Questions in the Commons. The problems result from the inexorable shift in policy direction of the party to the so called "centre ground" in British politics. This shift, to a certain extent commenced by Niel Kinnock but certainly carried to extreme and disastrous lengths by Blair, Mandelsson, Brown and Campbell has resulted in working people, pens...
