A "Demonstration" which will generate even more hostility.

https://youtu.be/b8sV1WTJbs4 Video: “Death to the Arabs” march forces its way through occupied Jerusalem Demonstration was part of the “Tour of the Gates” through the of the Old City. This video is as disgusting as it is disturbing. In many countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, Jews are protected by law from discrimination, anti semitism and abuse in the media or elsewhere. They occupy a place within society that is probably unique, in terms of laws and restrictions being applied for the protection of a minority, which is not afforded to any other group or religion. However, this demonstration in occupied East Jerusalem, with the demonstrators chanting "Death to the Arabs" specifically targeted at Palestinians passes unnoticed be the western media and not mentioned by politicians who should be protesting to the Israeli government. Again, a case of "Israel can do no wrong" is the overriding factor in this countries relationship wi...

The United States is "deeply troubled"

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/dec/31/palestinian-president-international-criminal-court Palestinian president signs up to join international criminal court Mahmoud Abbas has signed the Rome statute, the ICC’s founding treaty   The United States is, according to the State Department, "deeply troubled" by the Palestinian move to join the international criminal court. Likewise, in Israel Netanyahu said,  Israel would take unspecified “retaliatory steps”. to maintain their occupation of Palestine and the expansion of their "settlement" building program. It will be interesting to see whether the International Criminal Court will cave in to the blackmail, threats and other intimidation that the United States and Israel frequently employ against any country prepared to support the Palestinians, in order to maintain the subjugation of the Palestinian people by occupation, frequent use of military force and blockade. We must hope and trust that the I...

The struggle for statehood continues despite the hostility of some and the acquiescence of others.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/dec/30/un-security-council-rejects-palestinian-statehood-bid UN security council rejects Palestinian statehood bid The UNSC votes against a Palestinian resolution calling for an end to Israeli occupation and for independent Palestine The Americans can, as always, be relied upon to support the Israeli's no matter what the issue may be, for Israel can do no wrong. The Australians, contrary to all public option, press and media coverage, support the Americans and vote against the Palestinian peoples desire for statehood. The United Kingdom, again contrary to large sections of British public opinion, join Rwanda, Nigeria, Lithuania, and South Korea in sitting on the fence and doing nothing. These countries perched on the railings, have abdicated their responsibilities towards Palestine and the possibility of achieving any form of settlement in the region, but have secured for themselves the continuing favour of ...

The PA protecting Israeli settlements.

http://occupiedpalestine.wordpress.com/2013/06/17/israel-builds-settlements-pa-guards-them-by-khalid-amayreh/ Israel builds settlements, PA guards them.   PLO official Nabil Shaath threw a bombshell this week when he told Israeli reporters in Ramallah that the Palestinian Authority (PA) spends a large portion of its meager budget on guarding Israeli colonies against possible attacks by Palestinian resistance fighters.   Why on earth should the PA spend even one penny on guarding illegal Israeli settlements in Palestine? The "settlers" destroy irrigation systems and other infrastructure, they uproot crops and olive groves, they attack Palestinians in their own homes and they burn villages, all the while protected by the occupying thugs of the Israeli defence Force.     Their whole campaign of violenc...

"Fair play and International Standards"

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/israel-looking-to-mend-ties-with-un-rights-council-but-says-built-in-discrimination-must-end.premium-1.526488 Israel looking to mend ties with UN Rights Council, but says 'built-in discrimination' must end Benjamin Netanyahu and Deputy Defense Minister Zeev Elkin     The nerve and hypocrisy of the Israeli's is breathtaking. They require that " fair play and international standards are applied towards Israel,” in order to resume ties with the Geneva-based United Nations Human Rights Council. There is no reference to "fair play and international standards" for the people of the occupied territories.  A Palestinian demonstrator talks to Israeli soldiers.   Netanyahu and Zeev Elkin should remove the Israeli occupation force from Palestine, dismantle the illegal settlement in Palestine and end their occupation of East Jerusalem. Perhaps then the rest of us may then believe that the State of Is...

Israel planning more measures against Palestine.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/for-first-time-britain-france-may-recall-ambassadors-in-protest-at-israel-s-settlement-construction.premium-1.481963 Moves against Israel will be made in next the few days following Netanyahu’s decision to move ahead and build 3,000 housing units in the settlement blocs, and in East Jerusalem Israel plans to build 3,000 new housing units for Jewish settlers     A source in the Prime Minister’s Bureau said Israel was planning more steps against the Palestinian Authority. “The Palestinians will soon realize they made a mistake" Are nations finally beginning to realise that Israel has no interest in any form of peace process or in the "Two state solution"? Israeli governments have historically been interested, only in the expansion of "Greater Israel" by force and ethnic cleansing. Nothing has changed with the Netanyahu government or is there any likelihood of any change in the attitude of the ...

Who voted for Palestine?

http://en.avaaz.org/1170/see-who-voted-for-palestine?utm_source=twitter2_avaaz&utm_medium=social_media&utm_campaign=palestine   The UN general assembly has voted overwhelmingly to recognise Palestine 138 countries did what is right, 41 sat on their hands (sometimes, the actions or inaction's of governments bring shame on a nation )  7 nations voted to betray the Palestinian people yet again and thereby endorse barbarity and aggression by the Israeli's, and 2 nations, Israel and the United States, (well they would wouldn't they) voted to continue with the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, the illegal settlement building on Palestinian land, the illegal blockade of Gaza, and all the other atrocities committed in Palestine by Israel every day. These 9 nations, in voting against UN recognition of Palestine, have ensured that Israel and  the United States will become even more isolated over the coming months and Palestinians...

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.

Among those killed in the Israeli air strikes in the last two days was the 11-month-old son of a BBC Arabic Service cameraman in Gaza City. air raids on Gaza  BBC News and SKY News placing great emphasis on the three Israeli's being killed by rockets fired by "militants" from Gaza. Live interviews with Israeli government spokespersons, neighbours, police and emergency services at the scene, are filling the lead news slots and the reporters seem almost as hysterical as the people being interviewed.  There has been little, if any, mention of the eleven Palestinians including at least two children,  killed by Israeli airstrikes in the last 24 hours. No mention of the bombing of civilians and their homes and infrastructure in Gaza City.  So much for the balanced reporting of the British media who are resorting to type and perpetuating the Israeli/United States inspired myth that Israel is always the victim. Message to Tel Aviv and Netanyahu. Forget the pea...

The "Holocaust". A justification for aggression.

http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2012/08/26/auschwitz-how-relevant-is-it-in-todays-society/ "Holocaust"How relevant is it in today’s society? The relevance of the "Holocaust" is diminished every time it is used as a justification or reason for another act of aggression by Israel against Palestinians or some other neighbour. The "Holocaust Card" has been played by successive Israeli governments since 1948 in order to generate a collective guilty conscience in the outside world with the purpose of giving credibility to the "right to self defence" argument, so favoured with numerous government spokespersons. As  former Israeli Minister Shulamit Aloni stated in an interview on Democracy Now, " We always pull out the holocaust/anti-semitic trump card ". (You Tube video). Using the Holocaust as a justification for aggression against others is an insult to those who died during the Nazi period, be they Jews, Gypsies...

The sinister shadow of Blair returns.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/ed-unveils-labours-new-signing-7936576.html Tony Blair last night announced he is to take on his first job in  British politics since leaving  Downing Street – advising Labour on its policy review. Mr Blair appeared alongside Mr. Miliband at the Emirates stadium, home to Arsenal Football Club in North London. During his speech, Milliband commented that,  ‘....... I want to thank Tony for what he did for our party and for our country,’ For "our" party, it should be remembered that Blair destroyed party democracy and replaced it with a dictatorship of a small cabal, abandoned principles upon which the Labour Party was created, presided over a mass decline in membership, perpetuated and expanded privatisation, and failed to advance the real aspirations of working people in Britain. For our Country, the reality is that Blair played second fiddle to Clinton and Bush in his drive to gain favour with the United S...

The conclusion of the Egyptian revolution? Not quite.

http://www.guardian.co.uk   Muslim Brotherhood candidate's win is the best outcome of an election that leaves the military as the power behind the throne  Within hours of the result being declared, and while our television screens were still showing the scenes from Tarir Square, William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, the US State Department, the Daily Mail and many of its readers comments were leaping in with their “advice/instructions”, as to how the new President of Egypt should manage the country. This mind set is primarily associated with an almost obsessive compulsion in the west and with the larger part of the western media, to immediately conclude that any title of a party or group which contains the word Muslim, or Islamist is automatically hostile and must be isolated. The fact that Muslim Brotherhood was a banned organisation and the new President Mohammed Morsi spent many years in prison under the Mubarak regime, indicates the extent to which w...

Guantanamo Bay: a stain on human rights

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/ Guantanamo Bay: the biggest stain on human rights the world has ever seen. If these internees are so dangerous, or have committed such evil crimes, they should be put on trial and have the American allegations tested in law. Once again the Americans demonstrate that they consider themselves to be the worlds accuser, judge and jury and are above any measure of international law.

Israel: State Terrorists.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/ Airstrikes by Israeli F16's against civilians in Beit Lahia, Deir el-Ballah and Khan Younis , can hardly be described as self defence. The thugs of the IDF hide behind the facade of " .........strength and determination...." when they really mean collective punishment by the use of state terrorism.

A new Jewish settlement in East Jerusalem.

jerusalem-mayor-aims-to-establish-new-settlement-in-east-jerusalem-1.422228  No matter what UN resolutions may demand, no matter how much hand wringing "suggestions" Clinton may whisper, no matter how much the Palestinians may protest, the Israeli aggressors will continue with their ethnic cleansing programme. The o nly "settlement" Israel is prepared to have is the one which continues the expulsion of Palestinians and the demolition of Palestinian homes and infrastructures. Shame on Israel for their barbarism and shame on the world for failing to stop them.
