In fact one of the "friends", Saudi Arabia, is threatening to withdraw from the group largely in respon se to the failure of the American dominated clique to take any form of military action against the Syrian government and to be rather reticent in their support of the rebel groups in terms of hardware and weapons. This is crass hypocrisy of the first order from western powers seeking long term advantage and favours from despotic Middle Eastern regimes who are not even wanted in their own countries where they rely on western weapons to retain their position.
