After 27 years, the truth,

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/apr/26/hillsborough-families-27-year-struggle-for-truth-vindicated Hillsborough families' 27-year struggle for truth vindicated After 27 years, the families of the victims achieve justice as the truth is finally revealed. South Yorkshire police, the South Yorkshire ambulance service, Sheffield Wednesday football club and its engineers, Eastwood and Partners, Sheffield city council and other authorities are all criticised in the jury verdicts, particularly the West Yorkshire police and , South Yorkshire Chief Superintendent  David Duckenfield. The conspiracy of lies, cover up and perversion of the course of justice is a scandal of colossal proportions, which demands speedy investigation and prosecution of those individuals, organisations and public bodies involved.Notwithstanding the apologies already made in some sections of the press, the role of the media and the part they played, particularly Kelvin McKenzie and the Sun new...

Uruguay’s captain, Diego Lugano,"Did not see" the incident and also does not see "what all the fuss is about" (and other inane observations) and should be banned from any form of football for life, if only for being an ignorant idiot. Uruguay’s football association screams that the bite marks on Chiellini’s shoulder, had been Photoshopped from the internet to discredit the player and the Uruguay team. Uruguay’s football association should be expelled from FIFA for the period of the next 20 World Cup competit...

The rise and rise of Islamophobia.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/shaun-tuck-merseyside-police-probe-1916890 Police probe footballer who encouraged riots and bomb attacks on mosques Shaun Tuck called for All the mosque’s in England to be bombed or gassed out and Muslim children to be beheaded Why are the police only "....considering taking criminal action against him under the Malicious Communications and Public Order Acts." ? If he were Muslim, he would be labeled as a radicalised Jihadist and already arrested under counter terrorism legislation. The double standards of the "authorities" is making a deteriorating situation even worse.

The DPP and Hillsborough.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/cps-told-of-hillsborough-coverup-14-years-ago-8140104.html Alun Jones, QC says the Director of Public Prosecutions needs to explain why his office did "absolutely nothing" in 1998 after considering a line-by-line analysis of tampered reports by South Yorkshire police.   There are far too many events involving the police where the CPS  has, "decided to take no action against any officers involved". Perhaps the CPS should be investigated as well, not only on the Hillsborough tragedy but also on the numerous other cases where their decisions have caused concern.

The "Beautiful Game"

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/comment/simon-english-if-man-united-shares-get-any-lower-expect-glazers-to-grab-first-chance-of-an-exit-8038685.html  No one thinks the Glazers have any interest in football or the desires of the fans. They want to make cash, and have done so. Football in this country died when money became more important than talent. At one time, players would have pulled on a club, or country shirt and played for £20.00 per week, or in the case of country shirt probably for the price of getting to the stadium, but Jimmy Hill changed all that in 1961. The first question that a player asks today seems to be "Will my match fee cover a new Ferrari and I also need a new WAG?". However, I think that even Jimmy Hill would be appalled at the obscene amount of money sloshing around in the game today. Television rights running into £ billions, franchises in the same amounts, transfer fees,"floating clubs on the stock exchanges of the worl...

Television football coverage.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-   The £3BILLION bonanza: Premier League footballers set to get even richer as broadcast rights are sold for record sum to Sky and BT Obscene. When money becomes more important than the game, in the long run, its the game that suffers. Is there any connection between falling numbers going through the turnstiles, the decline in performance and ability of players, and the increasing sums of money paid by the media for the "packages" of games?
