Take the railways back into Public Ownership.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/network-rail-lose-control-tracks-chris-grayling-a7458041.html Network Rail to lose complete control of tracks in Government shake-up Another half baked scheme from a government tinkering with the peripheries of a problem and coming up with yet another "opportunity  to secure private sector investment". In any other words, an opportunity for some private companies to have access to vast sums of taxpayers (that's us) money and milk off huge profits for the benefit of their share holders and of course that all important "bottom line".  The only solution solution to the growing difficulties of the railways, from the point of view of the travelling passengers and of the tax payers, is for the entire railway network, the rolling stock, the operators, the infrastructure the stations and everything else to be brought back into public ownership. For far too long, the private companies have enj...

The dismantling of the Welfare State including the NHS has been Conservative ambition since 1947

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/nov/25/margaret-thatcher-pushed-for-breakup-of-welfare-state-despite-nhs-pledge Thatcher pushed for breakup of welfare state despite NHS pledge The duplicitous Thatcher together with Howe, Rifkind, Hurd, Tebbit and the other accomplices of the Thatcher governments, conspired in secret to destroy our Welfare sate and our National Health Service. As I have long argued, this has been the ambition and objective of the Conservative party since 1947 and has over those years, been surreptitiously advanced with piecemeal privatisations of numerous departments and functions of the welfare system and by closures of wards and hospitals where departments and departmental responsibilities have been gifted to the private sector, under the cloak of improving the service and saving money within our NHS. Today, this malevolent aspiration of the conservative party and their business supporters, circling like vultures waiting for their oppor...

We shall not be fooled by the deceitful propaganda of government and media and their shabby treatment of our NHS.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/junior-doctors-bma-announces-three-further-five-day-strikes-over-new-contract-a7220726.html Junior doctors: BMA announces three further five-day strikes over new contract Forget what Jeremy Hunt, Theresa May, Sky News, the Mail, Independent, Guardian, or any of the other media outlets and vested interests may tell you, the fundamental issue surrounding the proposed 5 day Junior Doctors strikes between now and Christmas is very clear. A live television interview on Sky News yesterday (1st September) with a Junior Doctor's representative, and which you will not see repeated for obvious reasons, clearly explained the situation to everyone watching the programme. In the NHS today, there is already a 24 hour 7 day week emergency cover, and that has been in place since 1948. There is also a full NHS service for the other 5 days every week, which has also been in place since 1948. ...

A degree of hypocrisy as Smith accuses Government of ‘covering up’ privatisation in the NHS .

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/labour-leadership-candidate-owen-smith-accuses-government-of-covering-up-privatisation-in-the-nhs-a7190411.html Owen Smith accuses Government of ‘covering up’ privatisation in the NHS Owen Smith Owen Smith, "The Stooge Candidate" (because nobody in PLP had the backbone to take on Corbyn themselves), has had the veil lifted from his eyes and realises what many of us in the Labour Party have been saying for years. The Conservative government and the ConDem coalition before them, are destroying the NHS with their programmes of cuts, closures and piecemeal privatisation. The Blair government started the process with PFI and the Conservatives have accelerated this smashing  of a National Institution which they have despised since 1948. Strangely, Smith (who was never Shadow Health Minister; another of Smith's distortions of truth), must have been aware of this breakup of the NHS for sometime, as he was once working ...

Jeremy Hunt rejects a BMA proposal to cancel all out strike by Junior Doctors.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/junior-doctors-strike-bma-tells-jeremy-hunt-walk-outs-will-be-scrapped-if-contract-imposition-halted-a6991101.html Jeremy Hunt rejects BMA offer to cancel walk-out if he halts contract imposition Jeremy Hunt: How long can he avoid the blame? As if his handling of this dispute were not incompetent enough already, Hunt compounds his ineptitude by rejecting a proposal from the BMA which would have allowed them and the Health Secretary to step back from an all out strike. However, Jeremy Hunt continues on the course which he has pursued from the beginning of this dispute. He has demonstrated a determination to pick a fight with the BMA and Junior Doctors and to take the most provocative position available to him on all of the disputed points. The latest aggressive miscalculation emanating from the Department of Health and seeking to impose by force, new contracts which had already been rejected by the BMA, was guaranteed...

Dorchester Labour Party supports the Junior Doctors

Resolution passed unanimously Dorchester Labour Party supports the Junior Doctors and urges the TUC to call on all its members and affiliates to support the BMA in the dispute with this government and with Jeremy Hunt in particular. The following resolution was passed unanimously at the meeting last Thursday. "This Branch condemns the actions of Jeremy Hunt the Health Secretary in imposing the disputed contract upon the junior doctors and calls upon the Labour Party National Executive Committee to express support for our National Health Service and the BMA in respect of junior doctors. Furthermore the Branch calls upon the TUC to offer full support to the BMA including but not limited to calling upon member unions to express their full support in rejecting the imposition of the disputed contract upon the junior doctors. Junior doctors demonstrate outside St Thomas's Hospital in London,  The TUC must now step up to the plate and ...

Exaggerating lies to "create" truth.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/demands-for-inquiry-into-whitehalls-sexed-up-letter-from-nhs-boss-warning-of-junior-doctors-strike-a6802926.html Demands for inquiry into Whitehall's sexed-up letter from NHS boss warning of junior doctors strike Jeremy Hunt: Part of the problrm No one should be in any doubt about how members of this Government, particularly Hunt, Duncan-Smith or Osborne will cheat, coerce and lie in order to achieve their objectives. Pressuring people in positions of influence, civil servants, intelligence chief's and even a head of the NHS, to embellish and exaggerate their reports or letters in order to meet the position adopted by Minister is not new. The sinister aspect of this practice is when the media either by accident or design put their own embellishment on the "story" and convince ordinary people that lies are "truth".

Throw money at a problem and it will go away, won't it?

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/nov/03/jeremy-hunt-offer-junior-doctors-pay-rise Jeremy Hunt offers junior doctors 11% pay rise in bid to end dispute      Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt The usual right wing. this time Tory, confidence trick of where there is a problem with the workers, throw money at them. The Conservatives have historically responded to any dispute involving working people with the reasoning that, "They are stupid enough to believe that we are solving the problem, and enough members of the public will only see the "money on the table" so the old divide and conquer ploy will click in and our problem will go away". Hunt may of course be successful in this duplicitous attempt at bribery and subterfuge of Junior Doctors and elements of the public, but deceipt of politicians will result in further damage to our NHS and misery for patients.

An extra £135 per week for MP's !

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/david-cameron-10-pay-rise-offers-mps-opportunity-to-be-more-charitable-10394801.html David Cameron: 10% pay rise offers MPs opportunity to be more charitable MP's have been awarded a salary increase of more than 10%. This award has been granted by the "independent" pay review body and consequently MP's are unable to do anything about it. They may of course as individuals, refuse to accept the increase or alternatively pay the extra cash into some charity or other deserving organisation. The extra money on their payslips, amounts to somewhere in excess of £7000 per annum, which is in excess of the money many people receive as income. Put another way, this figure amounts to around £135 per week. 10% increase for MPs was confirmed with salary now at £74,000.PA It is then ironic that not too long ago, some Public sector workers, nurses, NHS workers and other essential workers were awarded, ...

This government is declaring war against the people of this country

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jul/16/nhs-consultants-given-ultimatum-on-weekend-working NHS consultants given ultimatum on weekend working    The leader             The fiscal "mastermind"                 Destroying the NHS     Leading the war on welfare Leading the assaults on Trade Unions       Hunt oversimplifies (as usual), a very complex matter in order to send an ultimatum from his government department to yet another sector of society. With numerous ultimatums and threats over the past week, there seems to be no part of society which this wretched government is not seeking to declare war on. Fighting a war on two fronts is never a good idea (just ask the Germans), but Cameron, Osborne, Javid and now Hunt are instigating hostilities against ordinary people all around the country.     ...

NHS cuts as £34 million spent on Agency nurses in the South West alone.

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/nhs-hit-by-stealth-cuts-of-2bn-as-tariffs-received-for-medical-procedures-are-reduced-10204414.html NHS hit by stealth cuts of £2bn Warning bells sound as spending on agency nurses soars In 2014, the South West area NHS Trusts of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset alone, spent £34 million on obtaining Agency nursing from private companies. There is every reason to believe that similar and even greater sums in a number of other NHS Trusts around the country. WHY?

"National Security" used as justification for conspiracy to prevent investigation.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/royal-family-member-was-investigated-as-part-of-paedophile-ring-before-coverup-excop-says-10126864.html Royal family member was investigated as part of paedophile ring before cover-up Former officer claims the investigation was shut down for 'national security' reasons The "establishment" have resorted to the "not in the public’s interest because it could destabilise national security" on numerous occasions to cover up scandal and corruption as well as allegations of criminal and sexual activity, so in this sense this story comes as no surprise. These rumours and allegations were well known at the time and have been festering in the background ever since. It is only now, as the layers of the wider conspiracy are being slowly peeled back, is the extent of historic child sexual abuse in this country ( and even murder), and still prevalent today, is slowly emerging from the buried fi...

The stench of scandal and corruption within the establishment.

http://exaronews.com/articles/5529/ministers-block-move-to-lift-official-secrets-act-for-csa-scandal#.VQ5qXuVzqoE.twitter Government rejects immunity for public officials who "blow whistle" on child sex abuse. Home Secretary Theresa May This is outrageous. Clearly there are still MP's, civil servants and police who are implicated in this abuse and the conspiracy to prevent full investigation and prosecution of those involved. The malignant scandal of this abuse and the stench of corruption in the echelons of the establishment including the aristocracy, has been an affront and insult to both the victims and the ordinary people for far too long and must now be completely exposed. Those Ministers and civil servants now preventing further investigations and revelations by threat implied or otherwise, blackmail and the use of the Official Secrets Act to silence those who would otherwise provide further evidence, is a sign of desperation and panic in government ci...

Who is involved in the cover up and who is being protected?

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2015/feb/26/jimmy-savile-abuse-stoke-mandeville-hospital-inquiry   Jimmy Savile abused 60 people at Stoke Mandeville hospital, inquiry finds        The report published yesterday, reveals perhaps only part of the extent to which Savile carried out his odious sex abuse over many decades. The report contains many recommendations in respect of measures to be introduced covering monitoring of volunteers in the NHS, reporting incidents of suspected abuse, and a number of other proposals most of which Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Health, accepted during his statement to the House of Commons yesterday (26th February 2015). During the same statement Mr Hunt issued an apology on behalf of the government and NHS, on at least three occasions which now seems to be standard practice as if in some way, saying sorry makes every thing all right. It was also noticeable that the report contained detailed descript...

Credit where credit is due.

The NHS and the Ambulance Service.   Credit where credit is due as they say. There has been much criticism of the Ambulance service recently, particularly in Dorset. Stories of hours spent waiting for assistance to arrive and then long delays in A&E frequently appear in the media. However, we recently required medical assistance and can only praise the NHS personnel concerned. The first responder arrived within 10 minutes of the 999 call with the paramedics and ambulance arriving less than 5 minutes later. This timely response was in spite of the thick fog on the A35. The A&E staff at the Dorchester County Hospital were very efficient and resolved the problem. No hanging around for hours on the hospital trolley. On this occasion, a big thank you to the NHS, particularly in the ambulance service and the DCH.

This is not a "New Crisis"

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/nhs-explainer-why-are-we-experiencing-an-ae-crisis-now-9961468.html   Why are we experiencing an A&E crisis now? A very busy HNS Since the 1980's, when it became the policy to close hundreds of the smaller hospitals and create super size “centres of excellence” at a few locations around the country with the rather naive assumption that “Bigger is better”, we have had an “A&E crisis”, which has not been limited to the A&E departments but has percolated throughout the hospital system. This A&E crisis, was exacerbated throughout the 1990's with the fallacious proposition, that in order to solve the problem it was essential to introduce more and more layers of management, introduce “targets” to monitor performance of departments and individuals, and to pour money into the system. A fiscal policy which mainly went into financing the expanding bureaucracy rather than improving the standards of care. ...
