The "shoot first" mentality deprives the world of another member of an endangered species.

Jambo the Silverback at the time did what gorillas do naturally and protected the 5 year old Levan Merritt from other gorillas until the boy was rescued.In these situations the Silverback is generally more protective than aggressive. Gina died yesterday.

Gina died yesterday at the good age of 51. Very sad.

The Durrell Trust does valuable work in attempting to conserve wildlife in a number countries around the world for a number of species, not only the lemur.
