We need only to look at the Neo Conservative manifesto and to observe how American influence has become more dominant in many parts of the world since the end of the Second World War, to appreciate the threats associated with further appeasement to the American dream.   As Churchill once said in the 1930's, in relation to "Mein Kampf", when commenting on the speculation by the Chamberlain Government about the intentions of Hitler, "Why gaze into the crystal ball when you can read the book?"
