Redress in law must be available for all, not just the rich.

http://www.theguardian.com/law/2014/mar/07/lawyers-protest-parliament-legal-aid-cuts Lawyers protest outside parliament at legal aid cuts Barristers and solicitors as they hold a demonstration outside parliament. Former Tory MP Sir Ivan Lawrence QC is ashamed of government for 'destroying criminal justice system' Were it not for the legal aid system, I would have been unable to bring my case to the courts and the organisation would have got away with it. The lawyers may make money from the legal aid funds, but that is good value for people who would otherwise have no redress in the courts. The barristers and solicitors, certainly have my full support.

Fears over effects of CPS budget cuts

http://www.guardian.co.uk/law/2013/jul/27/staff-cuts-cps-delays-errors?guni=Keyword:news-grid%20main-1%20Main%20trailblock:Editable%20trailblock%20-%20news:Position3 Staff cuts at CPS lead to delays, errors and waste, say legal experts Crown courts in England and Wales have registered a rise in the number of trials failing because of basic administrative errors.   The CPS already makes some bizarre decisions, offering no evidence at trial or not bringing charges as prosecution, "would not be in the public interest" (what ever that means). If these CPS conclusions are as a direct (or indirect) consequence of cut backs and "savings" as seems to be the case, then strange decisions will become even more common. Perhaps there may be a case for closing down the CPS entirely, transferring the work to the Department of Justice and thereby "saving" even more money ! Nothing that this inept collection of ConDem opportunists masquerading as governmen...

Justice, provided that you can afford it.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/new-legal-aid-reforms-end-justice-for-all-lawyers-warn-8591234.html Under plans to save £200m solicitors will be paid fixed fees, with contracts going to firms like G4S New legal aid reforms end "justice for all"   The objective of course, is to deny people access to legal redress for negligence, personal injury, abuse by the rich and powerful and the media, and all the other Tort's against ordinary people, which are becoming so prevalent in society today.

Reforms are nothing to do with justice.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/03/05/legal-aid-cuts-could-see-people-taking-law_n_2809111.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Legal Aid reforms due to be brought in April could undermine the rule of law. Access Denied?   The reforms to the Legal Aid system, has nothing to do with justice or with government savings. The "reforms" are purely designed to prevent ordinary people having recourse to law. The removal of legal aid from areas of law, particularly for cases of clinical negligence ensures that only the rich will have access to justice. Lord Justice Jackson:  "legal aid should remain for clinical negligence"  A cynical and grotesque move by a wretched government primarily determined to prevent claims against negligent HHS Trusts and incompetent medical staff ever being brought before the courts.

The NHS Trust cover up culture.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2013/feb/02/mid-staffs-report-cover-ups  Mid Staffs report: No more cover-ups, says man whose son died after blunder   Frank Robinson at Stafford Civic Centre during the  public inquiry into the Mid Staffs care scandal.,                                       For as long as the present structure in the NHS remains, so will the incidents and subsequent cover up and concealment remain. It is a sad fact that many NHS Trusts have the same culture. It is just that some are worse in performance than others and some, but not all, are exposed. Too many patients and their relatives are, for many reasons, unable to peruse these Trusts either through the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, or through litigation on the soon to be ...

Conspiracy leading to an illegal war.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics Tony Blair blocked the Government's most senior lawyer from explaining to Cabinet the legality of the war in Iraq. According to his former spin doctor, the then Prime Minister feared that the legal opinion was too "nuanced" and would allow the war's ministerial critics Robin Cook and Clare Short to say that the case had not been made. Now that Campbell has admitted what many of us had known or suspected for years, will the lying hypocrite Blair finally be exposed as the Bush puppet and war criminal that he is?
