Jumping off the bridge is not a good idea.

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/10531951.Updated__Man_injured_in_Weymouth_Town_Bridge_horror_fall/ A MAN was seriously injured after plunging from Weymouth Town Bridge and landing on a concrete parapet. A paramedic with the injured man Weymouth Town Bridge   Paramedics, Police, Fire crews, A&E (at Dorchester presumably), hydraulic platform, bridge closed all because some morons ignored the signs saying that it’s an offence to jump off the bridge. Perhaps these people had been drinking (there are pubs at either end of the bridge), but even if they were sober its a still stupid thing to do. There must be a cost associated with all the emergency services involved, so who picks up the bill?

Saving money instead of lives?

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/10531628.Portland_helicopter_scrambled_to_diver_with_decompression_sickness/ Portland helicopter scrambled to diver with decompression sickness Portland Coastguard helicopter   Another call out for the Portland helicopter. These call outs are a regular occurrence here, regularly saving lives. The government want to scrap the helicopter service and save money. A clear demonstration of the ConDem coalition values.

Blair seeks to defend and justify a coup.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jul/07/egypt-army-morsi-tony-blair?guni=Keyword:news-grid%20main-1%20Main%20trailblock:Editable%20trailblock%20-%20news:Position1   Egyptian army had no choice over move to topple Morsi, says Tony Blair   Blair. Middle East "Peace Envoy", former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, ally of Clinton, "close friend" of Bush. Blair's other credentials which should feature prominently on his CV include war monger, liar, hypocrite and cheat, who still seeks to lecture the world under the dangerous delusion that he and he alone has all the answers to all the problems, and that the rest of us should defer to his superior knowledge and wisdom. In seeking to justify and defend what the whole world knows to be a coup, Blair shamelessly demonstrates his contempt for democracy unless such democracy conforms to his warped view of what a democratic society should be. The hypocrisy of the man is breathtaking.

Time to start again.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/07/05/labour-unite-falkirk-police_n_3549835.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Labour Row With Unite Union Escalates   Enough of this pantomime between Miliband and McCluskey. The whole subject has descended into farce and both are to blame. It is time for Miliband to remember where the roots of the Labour party actually are and for McCluskey to understand that Unite is not his own personal vehicle for promoting himself. Over recent years, certainly since the time of Blair, the Labour party has deteriorated significantly both in terms of performance and programmes. We now have the obscene spectacle of Labour voting with the Tories or abstaining on votes of major effect on working people and their families, the sick and disabled, and on claimant generally. It is time for the remaining cords to be cut. The TUC have for many years, tried to breathe life into the corpse of the political party they formed so many years ago. From the ...

This is not a reason to award a pay rise.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/07/05/ipsa-mp-pay-rise_n_3549461.html?utm_hp_ref=uk     Give MPs A Pay Rise, Or There'll Be Another Expenses Scandal, Says IPSA      This comment from IPSA is a damming indictment of MP's generally. Had the thieving members who embezzled public money by fiddling their expense claims been dealt with properly at the time, we might now have a house of commons which has some credibility with the people of this country, rather than a bunch of self serving hypocrites who are held in contempt by almost everybody. Saying "sorry" and handing back a few pounds here and there, was nothing more than a gesture in response to their crimes being exposed. Those MP's found with their fingers in the till should have been suspended from the House of Commons, charged with theft and misconduct in public office, and if found guilty, given suitable sentences and a criminal record. This would certainly ha...

A coup by any other name.

The constitution suspended. The head of Egypt's supreme constitutional court Adly Mansour, (a Mubarak man) appointed by the army until new presidential election are held (sometime in the future). By any definition, what took place in Egypt on the 3rd July 2013 was a coup. President Mohammed Morsi   The morning after the Egyptian coup. the world echo's to the sound of rhetorical hypocrisy bellowing out from Obama, Hague and other "leaders" of the west. Under any other circumstances, these political opportunists would be hysterically condemning a military take over in a country with a democratically el...

A patronising out of touch Baron.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/demand-for-food-banks-has-nothing-to-do-with-benefits-squeeze-says-lord-freud-8684005.html Demand for food banks ‘has nothing to do with benefits squeeze. David Anthony Freud,  now Baron Freud David Anthony Freud, born 24th June 1950, now Baron Freud, is a wealthy Conservative Peer who throughout his privileged life has had little contact with the real world. He will feel very much at home with the other "rich toffs" of the ConDem coalition, who currently make up this wretched government. To suggest, as Freud has done, that the increase in the numbers of people using foodbanks is not linked to benefit cuts, sanctions or delays, is a gross distortion of reality. Moreover, it is a patronising insult to over 500,000 people who are currently reliant on foodbank charities, the hundreds of volunteers around the country who organise and run these facilities, and the thousands of ordinary people who make contributions ...
