Clegg struggling with having no easy choices.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/08/29/nick-clegg-wrestling-syria_n_3834615.html?utm_hp_ref=uk Nick Clegg 'Wrestling' With Syria Decision Clegg. A second rate politician pretending to be important. Wrestling and struggling with a "Syrian decision" does not imply clarity of thought. It suggests that, as in many instances since this inept leader of the Libdems was elevated to a position well above his capabilities, Clegg will wait until he detects which side of the of the argument will win the day, and then, rather like Thomas Stanley  at the Battle of Bosworth Field, he will sally forth claiming to have been arguing for the final outcome all along. Throughout his tenure as Leader of the Liberal democrats and more recently as deputy Prime Minister, Clegg has demonstrated a woeful inability to show even the remotes signs of leadership, has reneged on practically every promise or undertaking given previously and revealed a contempt for the p...

If "Uncle Sam" and french are upset too, that's a bonus.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/08/29/miliband-labour_n_3834361.html?1377762757&utm_hp_ref=uk Ed Miliband 'Is A F***ing C***' Over Syria, Government Source Tells Times "he’s got no chance of building an alliance with the US Democratic Party,” That seems to be the over riding consideration with many of our "politicians", but not necessarily only in the Tory party. American opinion and objectives seem to be paramount. If Ed has upset the Americans and the french as well as the government (at least the Tory part of it), that is a big "well done" to Ed. He is right to resist the hysterical clamour for military intervention and and upsetting "Uncle Sam" is a bonus.

Government is not very happy with Miliband.

(For the time being in any case). The Foreign Office, and Hague in particular are furious.Note this tweet which appeared on my page a few minutes ago.   Govt source tells @SamCoatesTimes “No 10 and the Foreign Office think Miliband is a f*****g c**t and a copper-bottomed s**t" tuckerism Tim Gatt journalist just tweeted this...... em hang on...... if you fill in the * that is not nice.    Cameron and Hague: furious with Miliband. Clearly a temper tantrum, but the thought occurs, are these spite ridden, foul mouthed people really fit to form a government and run this country? They ...

Condor Ferries engine problems...again !

http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/10635801.Disruptions_after_Condor_breaks_down/?action=success Condor Vitesse suffers engine trouble Condor Vitesse Déjà vu. When will Condor get rid of these troublesome ferries, which incidentally are now looking well past their sell by date both mechanically and in the lounges, and replace them with proper vehicle ferries built for the prevailing conditions and traffic, rather than for the very different conditions around Australia or the Caribbean? We have been on both the "Express" and the "Vitesse" on a number of occasions since April of this year and the standard of both vessels has declined rapidly. The ships are generally grubby, (including the Rapide which we have also travelled on frequently) the reclining seats  are mostly broken and remain un repaired, and Club Class travel now only provides complimentary coffee and a muffin, which has usually seen better days. The condition of the ships, particularly ...

Blair, the peace envoy, still advocating war.

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/08/26/syria-tony-blair-mps-vote_n_3819466.html Tony Blair Tells David Cameron And President Obama To Intervene In Syria   "Blair Tells Cameron and Obama To Intervene In Syria." This one phrase, spoken by a man who has led this country into illegal wars, for which we and the people of the countries concerned are still paying the price, a man who has lied to Parliament on more than one occasion in order to achieve his own personal agenda, a man who has perverted the course of justice to in order to stop investigations into corruption by companies and their customers, a man who has grown very rich with fees, endorsements and writings on matters ranging from politics to biography and to new world order, clearly confirms his megalomania and self opinionated posture. Blair is not in any position to "tell" people to do anything. He should be in the ICC on war crime charges.” ...

Debanhams: Britain's favourite department store ?

A phone call to Debenhams and a visit to Debenhams on line.   Where are all the people? Debenhams. The most user unfriendly site in the whole www area. I have just spent 20 minutes on the telephone (10p per minute plus network charges) listening to a recorded voice automatically transferring to an automated response, giving umpteen options, asking for an account number and then not recognising it. Another call, and after pressing # a number of times (tip received from Santander complaints desk) I found a human voice (which sounded like he was in Mumbai) who promptly told me to ring back in 30 minutes as their systems were down and he could not help. We exchanged a few words and I hung up. A visit to the Debenhams site proved less than useful as after rummaging around in their "Help" sections and being advised to ring the telephone number I had previously used (10p per minute plus network charges) and finding no trace of an e-mail address, I gave up on that too. ...

Israel has no intention of reaching a settlement.

As it happens, these latest killings in the Qalandia refugee camp, come within hours of the announcement a further construction of 1600 housing units and the infrastructure needed to develop the planned Jewish community, in Ramat Shlomo in East Jerusalem. Ramat Shlomo in East Jerusalem.   How can the Israeli's expect the world to accept the assurance that their intentions in seeking an agreement with Palestine are genuine, and at the same time continue their provocative actions? As I ...
