The words of Barak Obama demonstrating a true example of the double standard. If we did not know better, we could actually think that he was talking about Palestinians in Gaza. No, he is actually talking about a christian Kurdish minority, seeking refuge on top of Mount Sinjar.
He would certainly not wish to upset the Israeli's with comments like,"where countless innocent people are facing a massacre" or even, "when we have the ability to help prevent it – the United States can’t just look away". When it comes to Israel, there is no such word as as hypocrisy.

What Obama, "Mr Sincerity" himself actually said was:
“When there’s a situation like the one on this mountain – when countless innocent people are facing a massacre, and when we have the ability to help prevent it – the United States can’t just look away. That’s not who we are. We’re Americans. We act. We lead. And that’s what we’re going to do on that mountain.”
