'No 10 knew' of Damian Green claims in 2016.
How far into the corridors of power, does the stench of cover up and chicanery in this sordid complicity actually stretch? The campaign of smear, threat and vilification against two former police officers is being orchestrated by certain sections of the media and by those Green allies, determined to deflect attention and create smokescreens to hide the reality that Green repeatedly lied to police, media and colleagues in respect of his knowledge and active part in the downloading of pornographic material onto his office computers. It is not the police who are the villain's in this story. It is Green and those seeking to protect him.
We now learn that the circumstances which initiated the investigation into Greens behaviour were rather more than a "fleeting touch" of Kate Maltby's knee and sending her suggestive text messages. In a BBC interview yesterday (21st December) Maltby reveals that Green made "improper advances" over a period of time prior to his appointment as First Secretary of State. More worryingly, it seems that Downing Street were aware of Green's behaviour prior to his appointment, after Maltby spoke to a very senior and long-serving aide of Theresa May and others reporting these incidents.
Downing Street official sources are repeatedly denying that they or the Prime Minister knew anything about the allegations, but it is difficult to accept that prior to or since Green's appointment as "de facto" Deputy Prime Minister, the government were completely in the dark as to his actions. It seems that the "establishment" are even now laying the groundwork to discredit Maltby and her revelations as to who knew what and when.
This story, the "establishment" lies and subsequent cover up now spreading into Number 10, has some way to run before all is exposed.
