Image result for Scotland 25 England 13

Swing Low Sweet Chariot.
Scotland 25 points England 13 points.
Oh dear, Oh dear, Oh dear.
Somewhere along the motorway system to Edinburg, the England team coach must have stopped for a "natural break" and on re boarding to continue their journey to Murrayfield, most of the players, not all but certainly most, left behind their knowledge of the basics of rugby and by the time the whistle blew for half time they were already trailing by 22 points to 6 points.
This was almost the England of old. They were awful, with gaping holes in the defence allowing the Scots to run through at will and on the occasions when we did manage to hold onto the ball for a few brief seconds, the only thought was to kick possession away as quickly as possible even though acres of Murrayfield space stretched before them. The second half was only marginally better as England managed to score a few points to make the score slightly less embarrassing but on the day, Scotland destroyed an England side which lacked flair, skill, determination, imagination and basic skills. The sound of, "And sent them homeward tae think again", resounding around the stadium just about summed it up.
On this performance, Ireland and France should have little to worry about, but England can't be as poor again, can they?

The shambles of this governments Brexit negotiations meanders on, with an "Away Day" at Chequers, hosted by Prime Minister May, The UK's approach to the next stage of Brexit negotiations seems to be based on "pure illusion", Donald Tusk says.
Meanwhile back in the La La Land of Theresa May's "reality", she flounders around in a state of delusional confusion, ignoring all the evidence, all the views which do not concur with her own, (whatever her views may be at any particular point in time) and all the economic reality. The chaos that this government has created and perpetuates on the subject of Brexit is both breathtaking and damaging for the country.

I hold freedom of the press to be cornerstone of democracy.
With freedom however, comes certain responsibilities and obligations. Over recent years, specific sections of the press have overstepped the line and brought the concept of press freedom into disrepute. The content of the smear campaigns waged by these "Press Barons" has become more and more vitriolic as each competes with the other to fill their articles and pages with lies and allegations so outrageous they they become almost comic. The coverage and subsequent comment by one of these "newspapers in particularly in connection with the Hillsborough Disaster, is a national disgrace which will remain as a testament to media abasement.

The only thing to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun (NRA statement) We shall give all teachers a gun because armed teachers would have "shot the hell out" of the Parkland gunman.(Donald Trump President of the United States).
On Sky television News on Wednesday last (21st February), over two hours was devoted to Donald Trump and his meaningless rhetoric in a discussion with an invited audience on the question of gun control in the "United States". An issues which has been debated numerous times before after previous atrocities of mass shootings in the USA. After the live broadcast, Sky News presenters spent even more time precising the discussion and offering their own "take" on what Trump and some of the audience had said.
At the end of the day, this debate will produce the same result as all the other debates and Americans will go on shooting each other because the 2nd Amendment (adopted on December 15, 1791) and the power of the "Gun Lobby" in the United States will ensure that nothing will change. No matter how much hot air is generated after each massacre, the "Right to bear arms" is embedded in the American character and unfortunately
will never change.

Northern Ireland and Brexit. The return of "The Troubles"

Northern Ireland: police attacked in another night of disturbances | Northern Ireland | The Guardian When the "Brexit" debate was still filling our newspapers and our television screens, readers may remember why I had changed my mind since voting to leave at the referendum vote. Apart from the economic arguments, which had become crystal clear after peeling away all the lies and misrepresentations trotted out by Bozo Boris and his "Get Brexit Done" conspirators, there was always the problem of the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Would it be possible to have a border between the European Union and the United Kingdom where people, goods and services could pass freely between the two nations without customs restrictions, tariffs, duties and all the other formalities? Would it be possible to have one part of the United Kingdom treated differently from other parts of the United Kingdom, particularly when Scotland for example had voted overwhe...

The writing on the wall

There will be many people over the coming months and years who will tell the "pollsters" that something should be done about the homeless, or the costs of electric, gas and water, or about the costs of public transport, or the failing (and privatised) NHS, or the excessive profits and tax avoidance of large corporations. etc. To all those I say, that if you did not vote Labour then you have only yourselves to blame and you must bear the consequences of your actions. Johnson a nd his sycophant cronies have been given a blank cheque to do as they please and sell off vast portions of the British economy to the Americans, (the takeover of British defence giant Cobham by a US private equi...

Greed and envy are good says Boris Johnson.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/embrace-culture-of-greed-says-boris-johnson-8968276.html Embrace culture of greed, says Boris Johnson Boris Johnson.  "I stress – I don't believe that economic equality is possible; indeed some measure of inequality is essential for the spirit of envy and keeping up with the Joneses that is, like greed, a valuable spur to economic activity." Johnson delivering the annual Margaret Thatcher lecture at the Centre for Policy Studies think-tank, Wednesday 27th November 2013 Boris Johnson seeks to emulate Thatcher. He appeals to the evil side of the "nasty" party, for a society where greed is good, where selfishness is encouraged, where division amongst people by envy and status is championed as a proper objective and where the excesses of business and government are regarded as appropriate and right for the advancement of the few at the expense of the many. Johnson is an evil man with evil intent...
