Sooner or later the Americans would have to start the "Syria is stalling", or "Syria must comply with its obligations" or "Syria is in defiance of the International community" or some other hysterical rhetoric pouring out of Washington. We have heard it all before in some context or other. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were preceded by the "International Community", otherwise known as the United States and the United Kingdom, trying to convince a skeptical world that "the bad guys" were at it again and that they must be punished. I have previously argued that it has always been the American and British objective to attack Syria and bring about yet another regime change.
Ambassador Robert Mikulak's statement on Thursday, was only the opening salvo in what will become a tirade of ever increasingly hostile rhetoric against Syria, attempting to convince us all that there is no option but intervention.
