Clegg is not only an unprincipled hypocrite, he is also an unprincipled Plagiarist. The ideas put forward by Mr Clegg, speaking on the opening day of his party’s spring conference, in respect of lawyers and accountants providing tax avoidance for the rich and powerful (tax evasion is of course illegal), are nothing more than repeating the arguments which I made in speeches back in 1982! In other words, this scandal was known then, and every Government since then has done absolutely NOTHING to rectify the practice in 30 years. There is no reason to suppose that anything will be done about by this Government either. This rhetoric is just another exercise in "spin" for the sake of popularity. Clegg and the rest will have forgotten the matter as soon as their Party Conference is over.
