It was never going to be easy, but David Davis and his negotitors make a bad situation even worse.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/aug/30/uk-tells-brussels-negotiators-their-brexit-bill-sums-do-not-add-up UK tells Brussels negotiators their Brexit bill sums do not add up. Guy Verhofstadt Brexit negotiator and Michel Barnier,  There seems to be a stock phrase in the conservative party "Book of Standard Responses", when faced with a financial proposal with which they do not agree, or perhaps more importantly, they are incapable of understanding, that they should counter with, " the sums do not add up". It can be found on the next page to the other stock response, "of course the proposals are uncosted". We have heard these inane remarks from practically every conservative politician and media fellow traveller during the last (and probably every other) general election campaign, directed predominately at the Labour Party manifesto. The remarks were fatuous then as they are now, but this time the "book" has been whipped out ...

New Agenda on Sunday. is out! Edition of 27th August 2017

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/ Good morning everyone . It seems that Sky News has been given the tip off by their masters in Conservative central Office that a general election will be called soon and consequently, they should now start their attacks on the Labour party generally and particularly on Jeremy Corbyn. Yesterday the station  missed  no opportunity to pour out the usual smear and distortions against Labour, starting with Stephen Dixon during their breakfast show and continuing at every news item and link right through the day, to Christina Patterson on the Sky Newspaper preview in late evening shown The BBC is bad enough, but when it comes to constant hysterical spite and venom, Sky News has no equal. Big Ben, (the great bell of the clock of course) has fallen silent for the next 4 years as "essential repairs" are carried out  on Elizabeth Tower. It seems certain that there will be some exceptions to the rule of silence, ...

Is there a general election coming soon?

There is a case for putting freight back onto trains.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/bank-holiday-travel-chaos-latest-crash-two-lorries-minibus-m1-several-dead-newport-pagnell-a7913831.html Eight people killed in crash involving minibus and two lorries on M1  Fatal accidents involving HGV's are all too common on our motorways over the past few decades with the M1, M5 and M6 being the most dangerous. As vehicles become even larger and more heavy, we can expect more congestion and regretably more death's as more vehicles add to the numbers already using our motorway network. This is a direct result of government policies since the 1960's in closing many miles of railway lines and closing vast sections of our railway network, forcing freight and other goods onto our roads. At the same time, removing any restrictions on the weight or size of goods vehicles and even allowing trailers to be attatched, has resulted in motorways being heavily congested with huge juggernauts not only from the UK, but wi...

Theresa May’s red lines are becoming more blurred by the day.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/aug/22/theresa-may-u-turn-brexit-european-court-justice Theresa May accused of U-turn over EU court’s role after Brexit With all the "U" turns in the space of the last 4 months alone, it is amazing that this woman actually knows in which direction she is now facing, or on which course she is now travelling. (Provided of course that she actually had an intended course and plan in the first place)

North Korea sending weapons to Syria?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/north-korea-syria-chemical-weapons-sending-un-report-united-nations-nuclear-a7906951.html#commentsDiv North Korea caught sending shipments to Syrian chemical weapons agency Caught in the act. North Korea shipping prohibited chemical, ballistic missile and conventional arms to the Bashar al Assad regime in Syria, in total defiance of "the international community" (aka United States and United Kingdom, shoulder to shoulder and all that belicose nonsense). Now the United States and with the United Kingdom in tow, have the perfect opportunity to do what they have been longing to do for the past six or seven years and invade Syria to effect regime change in Damascus and replace the Bashar al Assad government with one more likely to do as they are told by Washington and the American neocons. At the same time, "the West" (aka United States again) has the perfect opportunity to attack Pyongyang and Kim Jong-...

New Agenda on Sunday. is out! Edition of 20th August 2017

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/ Good morning everyone . England beat West Indies in two days by an innings and 209 runs. Moreover they used a PINK ball!! (Problem is, the pink ball is apparently, not easy to shine on one side no matter how much scubbing in the groin area of the trousers the bowler imparts to the leather. I assume that the ball is still leather no matter what colour it is.) Jeremy Hunt accuses Stephen Hawking of, "most pernicious falsehoods", in respect of Haking's suggestion that the NHS was being steered towards an American style Health Insurance system and that the NHS is under threat with Hunt "cherry picking" favourable evidence to support government claims that "The NHS under Cons ervatives,  has seen more money, more doc tors  and more nurses than ever in history". Jeremey Hunt launched a spiteful and vicious attack on Hawking in attempting to defend his record as Secretary of State for Health. A ...

Zac Goldsmith using terrorist atrocities to score political cheap political points.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/zac-goldsmith-barcelona-terror-attack-momentum-labour-left-wing-political-points-jeremy-corbyn-a7899921.html Tory MP Zac Goldsmith links Barcelona terror attack to Labour's Momentum group Frank Zacharias Robin "Zac" Goldsmith  This is bloody outrageous.  A privileged "Toff", who also happens to be an MP, spewing lies and using terrorist atrocities to make political capital. A shameful son of billionaire businessman and financier Sir James Goldsmith, he pours out lies, fabrication and deceit simply because he knows that he can get away with it and no one is able to effectually challenge him. He has been "getting away with it", all his life as is always the way with "privileged  Toffs".  Frank Zacharias Robin "Zac" Goldsmith, is a despicable, shameful "man", hiding behind the shield of priviledge using the death of at least 14 people in Spain to promote his own sic...

The spite and arrogance of Jeremy Hunt

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/aug/19/jeremy-hunt-says-stephen-hawking-is-wrong-on-the-nhs Jeremy Hunt accuses Stephen Hawking of 'pernicious falsehood' in NHS row Jeremy Hunt accuses Stephen Hawking of, "most pernicious falsehoods", in respect of Haking's suggestion that the NHS was being steered towards an American style Health Insurance system and that the NHS is under threat with Hunt "cherry picking" favourable evidence to support government claims that "The NHS under Cons has seen more money, more docs and more nurses than ever in history". Jeremey Hunt launched a spiteful and vicious attack on Hawking in attempting to defend his record as Secretary of State for Health. A post which he has held since 2012 and during that time has authorised and implemented cuts which has resulted in wards being closed, increased waiting times, fewer nurses and doctors on wards, more privatisation of elements of the NHS in h...

New Agenda on Sunday. is out! Edition of 13th August 2017

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/ Good morning everyone . The posturing, sabre rattling and threats rebounding around the world from Kim Jong-Un in Pyongyang and Donald John Trump in Washington, is becoming increasingly more like a playground spat between two schoolboys. This childish performance has all the characteristics of the junior quad squabbles with each shouting that theirs is the biggest, that they can hit harder than the other followed by the   "No you can't", "Yes I can" stupidity. Such exchanges are invariably created only to impress the assembled audience and establish some sort of hierarchial structure in the playground. The problem for the rest of us, is that this current round of threat and counter threat, is being waged by the leaders of two countries which both possess nuclear weapons, and also have a considerable arsenal of conventional weaponary. In other instances, we could take some small comfort from the fact that the ...
