England beat West Indies in two days by an innings and 209 runs. Moreover they used a PINK ball!! (Problem is, the pink ball is apparently, not easy to shine on one side no matter how much scubbing in the groin area of the trousers the bowler imparts to the leather. I assume that the ball is still leather no matter what colour it is.)

Jeremy Hunt accuses Stephen Hawking of, "most pernicious falsehoods", in respect of Haking's suggestion that the NHS was being steered towards an American style Health Insurance system and that the NHS is under threat with Hunt "cherry picking" favourable evidence to support government claims that "The NHS under Conservatives, has seen more money, more doctors and more nurses than ever in history".
Jeremey Hunt launched a spiteful and vicious attack on Hawking in attempting to defend his record as Secretary of State for Health. A post which he has held since 2012 and during that time has authorised and implemented cuts which have resulted in wards being closed, increased waiting times, fewer nurses and doctors on wards, more privatisation of elements of the NHS in health care (Virgin now provides more than 400 former NHS and social care services), junior doctors strikes and an alarming decline in the number of nurses in the profession. It is a record which Hunt has defended with lies and falsehood for the last 5 years, and he has the brazenness to accuse Stephen Hawking of peddling "pernicious falehood". Jeremy Richard Streynsham Hunt has a very unhealthy arrogant attitude and his record as Health Secretary is littered with deceit, lies and deceptions. He does not have a strong position when criticising others.

Sky News weather presenter Isobel Lang, has joined the growing list of people intent, it seems, on destroying the English language.
Given the introduction from the Sky News anchor, "It seems that we shall have some nice weather next week Isobel",
Lang responded with the now (apparently), obligatory , "Yeah, well, I mean".
If these people will insist on using the corrupted, lazy slang versions of English, why do they not just push off to the United States and live amongst those who would not even notice?

Theresa May announces yet another "policy initiative" and plan to table at the Brexit negotiations. It is promised that she has another five initiatives up her sleeve to present this week, all of which join the heap of paper on the table in Brussels and all of which have so far only drawn chuckles and shaking of heads in disbelief from the rest of the EU members. It is a pitty for the rest of us that these clowns in the conservative paty did not have a plan before embarking on this exercise, allowing Dave to call the referendum.
They are having to make it up as they go along and turning the whole Brexit question into a farce. The rest of Europe laughs at us as we lurch from crisis to crisis. Complete chaos.

The "weather" continues to have more twists, turns and red herrings than an Agatha Christie novel.Today it is raining. It may rain tomorrow but may have sunny periods. Hurricane "Gert"came and went but nobody noticed. It may get warm and humid later this week.

Have a nice week

Enough of this hysterical nonsense

http://style.uk.msn.com/royal-baby/how-will-the-royal-baby-look-as-he-grows-up Media generated hysteria.                           This is too much. For the last 36 hours (thought it seems more like 36 days) there has been wall to wall news coverage, media and television comment and reporting, with Sky News taking first prize for frenzied minute by minute reporting from the Palace, the hospital, from a village somewhere in England, from the studio and anywhere else that Burley, Botting and company could stick a microphone into some obscure "celebrity's" face and ask for yet another banal quote. All this galvanising the mass hysteria of some elements of the public, (who the media would have you believe is the reaction of "the whole world",) with their flag waving, dancing, singing and cheering over what is after all, no more than a woman having a bab...

New Agenda on Sunday is out Sunday, Apr. 28, 2019

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/ Good morning everyone. Last weeks scare regarding Megan and Harry being sent to live "somewhere in Africa" seems to have been dispelled, at least for the time being. It now seems that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will take up residence in California.  Unless  they are actually  doing  some proper work in "The Golden State", I hope that they are taken off the civil list so that we do not have to fund their life choice. The nauseating Daily Mail is at it again. A headline this week, which I will not even bother to reproduce here, screams out in disgusting and repulsive bias without any acknowledgement to the factual basis of their "story". Spewing out their usual smears and embellished distortions about Hamas, the IRA, Hezbollah and the rest, the Mail condemns itself with ample justification, for the closure of a "newspaper," which again abuses 10 fold, the privilege of "freedom of t...

A perverse and rather sinister media obsession to discredit, smear and undermine Jeremy Corbyn

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/venezuela-jeremy-corbyn-blasted-for-not-condemning-president-maduro-a3606156.html#commentsDiv Venezuela: Jeremy Corbyn blasted for not condemning socialist President Nicolas Maduro as violent conflict escalates There is a perverse and rather sinister obsesseion with the media and particularly television "interveiwers", in seeking to secure from Jeremy Corbyn a "condemnation" of some person or organisation or event. This time it is connected with events in Venezuela and the actions of President Nicolas Maduro and the bloody crackdown on protests against the result of last weeks poll which inaugurated a constituent assembly . The media "stories" and the interrogation by the television interviewers, are as subtle as a sledgehammer being nothing more than a variation on the "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" question, which so many repoters use in order for them to make themselves appear very ...
