Good morning everyone.

Cruise liners are getting bigger every year. Some are now reaching over 200,000 tons and carrying more than 5000 passengers, and each, so they say, equipped with the latest safety features. This week, the Viking Sky with 1300 people on board, lost all power in bad weather and began drifting toward the Norwegian coast, close to the rocks before she manage to get some anchors down.Over the next few hours, 500 passengers were airlifted to safety before she managed to restart 3 of her 4 engines and with assistance from tugs limped into a nearby port.

Man has really learnt little over the years since 1912. There is no such thing as an unsinkable or virtually unsinkable ship and nature will always win when challenged by "Man's final triumph over the sea".
These latest passenger cruise liners are far too big. One day something will happen and we wont be so lucky in getting everyone off.
The capital of Israel is not Jerusalem. This week, President Trump again ventured or rather interfered in the politics of the Middle East with his acceptance of Israeli "sovereignty" over the Golan Heights.
The continuing occupation of Palestinian territory is an International scandal which over the past 46 years, the United States has done nothing to address. Even the "Peace Process" and the "Two State Solution" are no more than empty rhetoric paying only lip service to the illusion that the United States has any intention of resolving the Arab Israeli conflict. The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital and now acceptance of sovereignty over the Golan Heights, fuels an already volatile situation in the area and internationally.

FORT Regent’s future as Jersey's flagship events centre has been thrown into doubt after fire-safety issues were uncovered – forcing the venue to cancel all major events for the foreseeable future. Back in the day, this was the favourite venue for the Yates family with a family membership allowing free parking, free rides on the cable cars straight down in the centre of St Helier at Snow Hill, endless hours in the Olympic size swimming pool for the kids, fun fairs, amusements, live shows in the Piazza, etc etc. Happy days.
It seems to be getting milder with forecasts of 26 C. We shall see.
Have a nice week.
