For many years, I have taken the view that American politics are generally for Americans and that it would be a bit impolite for me to comment albeit with the obvious exceptions of American foreign policy which affects the whole world.
Even the American Presidential election of November 2016 drew few comments from me, other than to endorse Bernie Sanders, who I still beleive would have beaten Trump, had he not been ousted by Clinton money and the Democratic party "establishment".
However, it is now abundantly clear that Americans have made a grave error and elected a very dangerous megalomaniac to the position of the most powerful man on the planet. What Trump does and says in the Whitehouse, from his refusal to accept climate change and withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement, his overtly misogynous actions, his potentially disasterous exchanges with North Korea, his comments that, "They want everything done for them", in response to the devastaion in Puerto Rico resulting from the recent hurricanes, the imposition of a 220% levy on Bombardier aircraft in the dispute between Beoing and the Candian company which could result in the loss of thousands of jobs in the United Kingdom, "Obamacare", the Wall etc etc this list is almost endless. There are move in the United States to empeach Trump and remove him from office. For the sake of the planet we must hope that he is removed soon and found a quiet place in the country, where he can play with his Leggo sets in a sand bunker to remind him of golf, and where he can do no further damage.

This buffoon is the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom. He is also seeking to become leader of the Conservative party and thereby the Prime Minister.There is a frightening possibility, that we could have the combination of a megalomaniac in the Whitehouse and a deranged but cunning muttonhead in 10 Downing Street.
An alarming prospect, as they are dangerous enough alone but combining the two increases the dangers ten fold.
The Labour party Conference 2017 in Birighton closed on Wednesday and the Conservative party Conference opened in Manchester today. As usual the contrast between the two presentations and their formats are stark.

I have missed every show so far in the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 series as there is always something more important to do ornsee to at the time of the show. However I read that this piece of television extravaganza is living up to its reputation for controversey with the demented Bruno goping one of the other judges, racist allegations, and the usual "Strictly curse" suggestions. Perhaps by the time Strictly Come Dancing 2018 (or even 2050) comes around, I may have a free slot to watch this.
On the subject of television shows, "Liar" (ITV Monday evening) with Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd (remember him as Hornblower) is brilliant.
