Sanity has returned.
The Clocks have gone forward by one hour, and now I am back to normal. The twice yearly nonsense of tampering with time is a complete farce which serves no useful purpose and which causes only distress and irritation for many (including me). In my case, the period between October when they go back, and March when they revert to "proper" time is purgatory with disrupted sleep patterns and moody intervals which can last for days. It is not "normal" to arbitrarily interfere with time, (except perhaps in times of war) and should be abandoned.
Note to those who are responsible for such things:
Now leave the bloody clocks alone!!!
The concept of "Collective Responsibility", both in cabinet and Shadow cabinet is an integral part of British politics. Owen Smith is aware of this and yet proceeded to publish his article in the Guardian, fully aware of the Labour party position on the question of a Second referendum and the position of the remainder of the Shadow Cabinet. Consequently, neither he, nor anybody else should be surprised that he has been sacked from his position.

As a former resident of Kelvin Hill in Basingstoke, it appears to me that the scheme to "develop" the Camrose stadium, home to Basingstoke Town FC, with a 90 bedroom hotel, a drive through fast food restaurant, and 90 new homes is not a very good idea, apart from the housing that is because Basingstoke as with many towns around the country is in desperate need of new housing. Unless the geography of the area has changed significantly since I lived there, the thought of a 90-bedroom hotel and a drive-thru fast food restaurant on that site seems completely inappropriate with adequate similar alternatives being reasonably close by. As for the housing proposals, provided that plans include a significant amount of social housing and a balance of low cost affordable homes, an additional 90 new homes would be very welcome.
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, is well known for his gaffs, errors of judgement, ill considered remarks, jingoistic sabre rattling and his burning ambition to lead the Conservative party. Amongst all the fatuous comments issuing from this self opinionated buffoon, the comparison to Hitler and the 1936 Olympics, rates with the most despicable of his warped observations. People in other parties and organisations have been pilloried and persecuted for saying less, but Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson seems somehow immune to criticism from the media or elsewhere. Johnson and others, should remember that around 26 million Russians, both civilian and military, were killed fighting Hitler and his Nazi's between 1941 and 1945. To compare Russia hosting the World Cup to Germany's 1936 Olympics, is both crass and puerile. Johnson should immediately reconsider his latest gaffe and apologise to Russia and its people.
Anna Botting of Sky Television News was really on form on Thursday 22nd during the Newspaper Preview section at 10:30. She had clearly taken a large dose of the "Vitriol" medication as she reverted to the Anna Botting which we have not seen for some time. She has obviously now fully recovered from the mauling she received from George Galloway on live television some years ago, and now feels confident enough to implement the Sky policy of pushing the editorial instructions regardless of relevance or fact.
Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and Ian Dunt were the unfortunate recipients of Botting's almost hysterical tirade as they reeled under a constant barrage of shouting and interruptions from the other side of the table. This was the Botting of old as her usual tactic of talking over and shouting down the "reviewers" completely dominated the half hour segment. leaving very little room for contributions from the others. Alibhai-Brown and Dunt tried valiantly to get into the "conversation" but failed miserably to have any impact on the rampaging Botting.
I have commented in the past regarding Botting's rude, patronising and objectionable performances and her recent appearances have suggested that she may well have turned another leaf. Sadly, her performance on Thursday was a repeat of the "Anna Botting Show" of old and indicates the lengths that Sky Television will go to in their quest to dominate and control public opinion.
The nastiest of the neocon nasties John Bolton, returns to the Whitehouse. With Trump as Commander in Chief and this deranged psychopath Bolton as National "Security" adviser, a war with another country (they have no preference as to which one), or "Regime Change" somewhere in the world (again, no preference), has moved significantly closer.
The lunatics have now taken over the asylum.
Meanwhile, back in Jersey, Islanders have been warned not to place flowers or other adornments on the many memorial benches at Green Island, St Brelade,s and other places around the Island. The Director of technical services for the Infrastructure Department, said that he had previously taken a relaxed view on the issue but that the situation had now got out of control and the memorial tributes will be removed.

Don't put the thermals back in the drawer just yet. They are forecasting frost and around 3 inches of snow for Easter!
Have a nice week
