The bombing of Nagasaki



At least 70,000 died in the Nagasaki attack, which came three days after another bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Thousands more have died from injuries or illness since.About 30% of Nagasaki, including almost all the industrial district was destroyed by the bomb.
Nagasaki was the secondary target for August 9th, but Kokura, the primary target, had 70% cloud cover obscuring that city, which prevented the planned attack.

Only one country has ever used nuclear weapons against the civilian population of another country.
