Labour MPs say Panorama 'heartbreaking' as party brand it 'not fair or balanced'
On 28th June I wrote a piece under the heading of "They should at least be honest". I have always held the view that hypocrisy is an abhorrent feature of society, which should be condemned. However last night's Panorama had hypocrisy in spades. Almost from the start, film of John Mann hysterically berating Ken Livingstone about comments Livingstone had made in connection with Hitler and Zionism filled our screens. Although the hysterical Mann managed to ensure that he was always in shot, as he looked round to check that the camera was at the correct angle for him.
What followed was a procession of "whistle blowers" lined up to give their stories, sometimes in lurid detail of how they were abused with antisemitic intimidation and how they were unable to continue with their roles in Labour party Head Office. A common thread emerged during the course of these "interviews," which indicated that the bullying, abuse and antisemitism came about a short time after Jeremy Corbyn was elected as leader. A fact which stretches the reals of coincidence beyond all credibility. "Whistle blower" after "whistle blower" droned on with monotonous repetitivity essentially the same list of allegations which have been reproduced in the press and media over many months. The Panorama programme was biased, tendentious and certainly part of the ongoing campaign to remove Corbyn and the Labour leadership before the next general election.
Today Tom Watson (who else?) waded in with his verdict on the programme saying that "there was “almost a permissive culture” towards antisemitism in the party, and there was evidence of participation” from the leader’s office in disciplinary cases".
The orchestrated campaign to oust Corbyn, grows in intensity as the usual suspects persist with their "antisemitic" smears bringing in the Jewish Labour movement and even dragging Ian McNicol out of the wood work to add his two penny worth. Interestingly, on Sky news this morning, yet another Rabbi was dragged in to the studio to the studio to add her contribution to the anti Corbyn furor. Strangely the media can never find a Corbyn supporting Rabbi (and there are many of them) or any Corbyn supporting members of the JLM and there are many of those too, to voice an opinion.
As I said on the 28th June, the anti Semitism hysteria screams on, but the usual suspects, and the hangers on, could at least be honest in their objectives, rather than skulking behind a cloak of hypocrisy.
