Fury over return of Chris Williamson

Image result for Labour fury over return of Chris Williamson

Chris Williamson has been readmitted to the Labour party following his suspension for suggesting the party had been “too apologetic” about antisemitism. What did Williamson actually say? Addressing activists in Sheffield Williamson said "I’ve got to say, I think our party’s response has been partly responsible … Because, in my opinion, we’ve backed off far too much, we’ve given too much ground, we’ve been too apologetic.” Later he apologised saying " “I deeply regret, and apologise for, my recent choice of words when speaking about how the Labour party has responded to the ongoing fight against antisemitism inside of our party. I was trying to stress how much the party has done to tackle antisemitism.”
The apology and subsequent suspension, should have been enough, but in the world of "Lets use any excuse to batter the Labour party and its leadership" there are those in the media and the PLP who will always demand even more than the pound of flesh. Today it is the turn of some national newspapers to scream out the lurid headlines such as "Labour fury over return of Chris Williamson" or "'An utter disgrace': Fury as Labour MP and Corbyn ally Chris Williamson is let off with a warning" or even "Outrage as Labour lifts suspension of 'Jew-baiter' MP Chris Williamson". Not to be outdone in this hysterical tirade, Sky news (who else) wades in with their contribution to the furor. On the wall of the editorial office at Sky news, there must be a poster reading "Never let the truth or balance stand in the way of using an opportunity to attack the Labour party".

This morning was no exception as they dragged in Ruth Smeeth MP to face some leading questions from Sarah- Jane Mee the "arch inquisitor" who we know follows Sky editorial policy to the letter. After the usual run of questions giving Smeeth numerous opportunities to attack "Labour's antisemitism", Sarah- Jane presented the classic for which we had all been waiting. "There are many Labour MP's" droned Mee (not true as it happens, but truth is not one of Sky news long suits) "who have left the party due to antisemitism. Are you not tempted to join them?" Smeeth hardly even considered the point before responding with, "No. I shall remain in the party because I will not be bullied or intimidated by the antisemities".

It is indeed ironic, that one of the most vocal critics of the Party and the leadership should use the phrase that she will not be bullied, when ordinary party members as well as some MP's have been the targets of widespread bullying and intimidation by those usual suspects in the PLP, Board of Deputies of British Jews, or the Jewish Leadership Council". and other such bodies. Not before time, I and perhaps many other party members, have come to the view that we will not be bullied or intimidated by the smears and insults. The warped bandwagon trundling around at this time who believe that they are somehow able to throw out the"antisemitism" smear at all who dare to have an opinion differing from their own and yet remain immune from any response. Those days are gone.
I make no apology for criticising those who seek to bully, smear and criticise the party and its leadership, when we all know the hidden agenda.
The real reason is as it has always been. There are those who have always sought to displace Jeremy Corbyn as leader. These individuals and organisations will go to any lengths and use any arguments to achieve this objective.
Their methods are hardly subtle and the rest of us can only shake our heads in disbelief  that they persist with a discredited and despicable accusations.

Enough of this hysterical nonsense

http://style.uk.msn.com/royal-baby/how-will-the-royal-baby-look-as-he-grows-up Media generated hysteria.                           This is too much. For the last 36 hours (thought it seems more like 36 days) there has been wall to wall news coverage, media and television comment and reporting, with Sky News taking first prize for frenzied minute by minute reporting from the Palace, the hospital, from a village somewhere in England, from the studio and anywhere else that Burley, Botting and company could stick a microphone into some obscure "celebrity's" face and ask for yet another banal quote. All this galvanising the mass hysteria of some elements of the public, (who the media would have you believe is the reaction of "the whole world",) with their flag waving, dancing, singing and cheering over what is after all, no more than a woman having a bab...

New Agenda on Sunday is out Sunday, Apr. 28, 2019

https://paper.li/f-1346065353#/ Good morning everyone. Last weeks scare regarding Megan and Harry being sent to live "somewhere in Africa" seems to have been dispelled, at least for the time being. It now seems that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will take up residence in California.  Unless  they are actually  doing  some proper work in "The Golden State", I hope that they are taken off the civil list so that we do not have to fund their life choice. The nauseating Daily Mail is at it again. A headline this week, which I will not even bother to reproduce here, screams out in disgusting and repulsive bias without any acknowledgement to the factual basis of their "story". Spewing out their usual smears and embellished distortions about Hamas, the IRA, Hezbollah and the rest, the Mail condemns itself with ample justification, for the closure of a "newspaper," which again abuses 10 fold, the privilege of "freedom of t...

A perverse and rather sinister media obsession to discredit, smear and undermine Jeremy Corbyn

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/venezuela-jeremy-corbyn-blasted-for-not-condemning-president-maduro-a3606156.html#commentsDiv Venezuela: Jeremy Corbyn blasted for not condemning socialist President Nicolas Maduro as violent conflict escalates There is a perverse and rather sinister obsesseion with the media and particularly television "interveiwers", in seeking to secure from Jeremy Corbyn a "condemnation" of some person or organisation or event. This time it is connected with events in Venezuela and the actions of President Nicolas Maduro and the bloody crackdown on protests against the result of last weeks poll which inaugurated a constituent assembly . The media "stories" and the interrogation by the television interviewers, are as subtle as a sledgehammer being nothing more than a variation on the "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?" question, which so many repoters use in order for them to make themselves appear very ...
