Concern as head of new National Crime Agency diverts resources from live investigations to inquiry into historical abuse
It is the extent of the "historic" abuse and the scale of the cover up by the establishment and the investigating authorities at the time which demands a complete investigation now. Sweeping history under the carpet by arguing that historic abuse has stopped and therefore is not worthy of investigation is a vile and reprehensible response to the current requirements for investigation. Notwithstanding the public utterances of some "senior police officers and experts" the motives of those individuals who question the continuation of investigations into historic abuse, should be closely scrutinised.
