The royal fans who flocked to Windsor to celebrate birth
Amongst the popping champagne corks, the waving flags, the tinfoil balloons, there is much celebration and joy on the streets of Windsor and other places around the country. These are the same people however who will, on their way home, or within the next few weeks or months, pass a shop doorway or other place, where someone is wrapped in a blanket or newspaper and is sleeping rough again. These are the same people who will not even notice the scandal of homeless rough sleepers on our streets and will pass by without even acknowledging the affront to our society. These are the same people who will quaff their champagne and snacks enjoying the vicarious elation surrounding another royal birth. These are the same people who should read this post and feel a sense of shame at their jubilation. However, the probability of them reading this is very small and the probability of them having any sense of shame in regard to their excesses is even less.
